Chapter 39

"Chunji~~ Hurry up with the chairs!" Byunghun complained, urging Chunji to move faster.

"I'm going as fast as I can!" he groaned, pushing the heavy cart more. I turned and laughed as I saw Kevin and Jiyeon carefully pouring punch into the glasses and making sure that they were all filled with the same amount.

"A little faster Mr. and Ms. Perfection!" AJ teased, bumping Kevin playfully as he and Eli rolled a large circular table across the floor.

I returned my attention to helping Kiseop, Kibum, Soohyun, and Woohyun hang streamers. "How's this Hyomin?" Woohyun asked, his voice straining slightly as he stretched higher.

"That's perfect!" I praised with a smile. "Tape it down!" He nodded and pulled a piece of tape off of his lower lip before taping the streamer down.

"Hyomin~" Dongho called. I whirled around and stared at him, Aecha, and Changjo. "Where should we put the napkins? You haven't set up the food table yet."

I shrugged and then asked, "Could you be a sweetheart and set it up for me?" He nodded and gave me a thumbs up before walking off with Aecha, Changjo, Yuri, Ricky, and Eunsung close behind.

"Minsoo-Oppa~? How's it coming with the music?" C.A.P-Oppa gave me a grin and then gave me a thumbs up and a nod. I tapped my mike and murmured, "Testing, testing."

"Hear you loud and clear!" Dongjin teased with a smile. "Hey, L.Joe-Hyung, can you pass me that cable?"

The entire hall that we were setting up was in a state of organized chaos as we prepared for Neil and Hoon's surprise birthday. Not only was this special because it was for two of my very close Oppas, but it was also one of the last birthdays that we, KREST, would be allowed to celebrate with our close friends before our China trip and concert.

"Hyomin, we have a problem!" Eli warned, running up to me. "Neil and Hoon are on their way!"

"WHAT?! They're early!" I exclaimed with a grimace. "Oppa, you have to stall them! Take Chunji-Oppa and Kibum!" He nodded obediently and grabbed the two boys from their posts before dashing out of the hall.

Byunghun walked over to me curiously. "What's going on?"

"Neil and Hoon are on their way. Don't panic!" I warned as a look of shock entered his eyes. "Don't freak them out!"

He pursed his lips and then groaned, "Yeonin, we're really behind schedule!"

I nodded and clapped my hands loudly. All work ceased and everyone stared at me. "Emergency! Everyone kick it into double time! The chickens are running across the road! I repeat, the chickens are running across the road!" I announced, clapping while everyone resumed their activities, moving at an almost supersonic pace.

There was a buzzing on my walkie talkie as I helped Dongho toss tablecloths over the three round tables. "Hyo... In... Crow... Hurry!"

I pulled out my walkie talkie and inquired, "Repeat Eli-Oppa. Over."

"Hyomin, the roosters are going to crow! The roosters are going to crow! Speed it up!" I gasped and yelled out the latest update to the others.

"Please don't go to Defcon Nest! Please don't go to Defcon Nest!" I begged, cradling the walkie talkie while things were moved around and adjusted around me.

"Hyomin, the lights are messed up! Help!" Woohyun exclaimed, waving me over to him, Soohyun, Kiseop, Dongho, and Ricky. "Ricky is the smallest out of all of us and he still can't fit!" He pointed at a gap in the wall and I groaned as I looked at the small size and the cord dangling mockingly in the nearby distance.
