Chapter 43

"Yo, Sanghyuk!" Hongbin called, causing the Maknae to jump in surprise while he played a video game with Wonsik. "Where's the curry powder?!"

"I don't know," he replied, the thudding on the controller buttons increasing as he attempted to regain his lead against Ravi. I shook my head with an amused smile and went to the kitchen to help Hongbin look for the curry powder. Searching through all of the cabinets and drawers, every corner came to a dead end. I frowned and sat thoughtfully on the floor, a frown implanted on my face.

"Yah, Jung Taek Woon~!" I yelled loudly from my spot on the floor. "Curry powder-un eodi-isseo?!"

"It's in the cupboard under the utensils!" he told me from the bedroom in the loudest voice I'd ever heard him use. "Don't forget to ad the meat~" I rechecked the cupboard and found the powder all the way at the back. Hongbin grinned as I pulled it out and accepted the packet from me. I was silent as I watched him wash his hands while he prepared to make dinner.

"Hongbin, I can make the curry if you want. Take a break and relax! ^-^" I offered with a smile.

He stared at me and then cocked his head to one side. "Are you sure Hackyeon-Hyung? It's no trouble to make because it's instant curry." I waved him off and have a shake of my head. "Really? Wow, thanks Hyung!" With that, he ran into the living room and plopped down between Wonsik and Sanghyuk while they played Mario Kart.

"Oh~? Leader-Hyung is cooking~!" Jaehwan exclaimed teasingly as he walked by the kitchen door to go to the bedroom. I stifled my laugh as I washed the rice and then refilled the container with water. I placed the container filled with dry rice and water into the cooker and switched it on.

"Alright, time to start the curry! FIGHTING!! >.<" I cheered to myself in a determined voice.

I decided on making a simple curry sauce and put a chunk of butter in the middle of the pan I had set up. After the butter had melted completely, I chopped up some onions and sautéed them in the pan before adding some minced garlic and grated ginger into the mix. I let the whole thing simmer for a bit while I cut open the curry powder packet. Adding the powder in, I mixed it in with the rest of the present ingredients.

Ravi had poked his head into the kitchen through the door and was watching me cook. Amused, I took a wet paper towel and tossed it at him. He squealed and dashed back to the TV to watch Sanghyuk and Hongbin play Mario Kart while they shoved each other around on the couch, attempting to sabotage the other person.

Turning my attention back to the curry, I wracked my brain for the next step in the curry-making process. I grabbed a bit of flour from the packet and turned the heat down. Carefully, I added the flour and whisked it into the curry along with the rest of the foods. The curry began to get pasty and kept sticking to the whisk so I switched of the heat while I started on the next step.

There was already boiling water from the tea from earlier and I added some into the curry. It began to thicken while I stirred it and the rich smell of the curry hit my nose. "Yah, do you guys want beef curry?!" I asked loudly.

"YES!" Sanghyuk cheered. "Go Mario, Go!"

"Ne~" Jaehwan cooed sweetly. I received a mumble of consent from Leo, Hongbin, and Ravi and then pulled the fresh beef out of the fridge and added it into the mix as well after I had added some ground tomatoes.

"HYUNG, IT SMELLS SO GOOD!!!" Ravi exclaimed in an almost yelling voice. "I WANT TO EAT!"

"It's almost ready!" I reassured with a small giggle. The curry was ready and the rice was almost done cooking. Looking around, I pulled some leftover Ddokbogi out of the fridge and began heating it up. "Might as well not waste food," I mused to myself.
