Chapter 52

~~~~~~~ September 14: Seoul Blues Set ~~~~~~~

"Peniel, Hyomin, mic check!" I tapped my microphone.

"Testing. Testing. Mic is working." Peniel laughed loudly and his mic gave loud feedback. The sound man turned down his microphone and Peniel grinned apologetically.

"We're on in 3, 2..." The cameraman held up one finger and then signaled for us to start. There was a bluesy theme and Peniel and I started dancing in our seats out of habit.

"Hey everybody! Welcome to the first episode of Seoul Blues!" Peniel exclaimed excitedly as the song ended. "We're your hosts, the lovely Hyomin A. Woo of KREST."

"And the fabulous Peniel D. Shin of BTOB!" I cheered, gesturing at him. He took an elegant bow and the fake audience sound effect laughed happily.

"Alright, many of you may be wondering what the point of this show is," Peniel said with a confused frown. "Well, as all fans of our groups know, we're not from this country!" The fake audience burst into laughter as Peniel switched to a U.S. southern accented Korean.

"Anyway, the point of this show is that we aren't from the south!" I spilled out quickly, slapping a hand playfully over Peniel's mouth with a grin. "Just kidding guys! We're a fusion comedy interview show. Pretty much that's what we are in a nutshell."

Peniel nodded in agreement and licked my hand. I squealed in shock and yanked my hand away with a scared expression. "What Hyomin is missing, is the entire story! We're both Koreans born in Chicago in the U.S. Chicago is the City of Blues! Hence the name Seoul Blues. The main goal of our show is to, first of all, provide a way for American K-Pop fans to experience their favorite stars in a really laid-back way and for the Korean culture to spread to America!"

I added, "We also want Koreans to be able to experience some American culture as well! We're a show dedicated to fun, friends, culture, and everything fusion! To those American fans that love K-Pop, we love you too! ^-^"

"Shout out to my Chicago Melodies~" Peniel cooed with a wink. "I love you!" I whacked him with a sigh and he grinned sheepishly. "Anyway, to cheerfully start off this new show, we have some special guests who I am very close to. Please join me in welcoming BTOB!" I noticed that our entire show was in English and cocked my head to one side as I clapped for the BTOB members.

Hyunsik did a cool dance and spun into position beside Changsub. "Hello everyone, I'm BTOB's leader and main vocalist Seo Eun Kwang~" Eunkwang-Oppa greeted in his awkward English with a cute smile.

"Hello, my name is Lee Min Hyuk! I am BTOB's lead dancer and lead rapper and I'm the visual too and a vocalist too," Minhyuk said with a grin, waving at the camera.

Changsub did a flirty dance before winking and taking a bow. "I'm Lee Changsub! I'm lead vocals for BTOB~ I love you Melodies~ ;)"

I held back a smile as Hyunsik flipped his hair awkwardly and took a small bow. "I am Lim Hyun Sik. Main dancer and lead vocalist of BTOB. I am very excited to be here!"

Peniel waved and quickly reintroduced himself. "Yo, you guys already know me. I'm your boy from Chicago, Peniel D. Shin, vocalist and rapper of BTOB and one of the hosts of this show."

Ilhoon was shaking with tension as he took a stiff bow with a smile. "Hello, I am Jung Il Hoon~ I am the second youngest member of BTOB and I am the main rapper and a vocalist."

Sungjae did a dance and spun around before posing and looking at the camera sexily. "Hi. I'm Yook Sung Jae. I am BTOB's Maknae and a vocalist. I love Melodies."

We all clapped for Sungjae's introduction and he grinned and took a bow. "So, guys, we have a great show planned for you! We're going to be playing games, taking fan requests, showing some videos, and we're just going to have fun!" I told them, repeating my statements in Korean for them. They cheered and clapped excitedly with smiles.
