You were so hurt to know that Miyagi chooses Ayako after you comforted him for weeks. You like Miyagi for a long time ever since you got into Shohoku high school but he doesn't reciprocate your feelings. Ayako is just so beautiful that you envied her.

Your friend wants you to hook up with somebody just so you could move on from Miyagi. Everyone in school knew that you like Miyagi and they also knew that Miyagi chooses Ayako since she's the manager of their school's basketball team. Mayui is your best friend and she's the one who wants to you hook up with somebody.

Today, you don't have classes but you were just in school since you were submitting your assignment. It's still 9 AM and you wait for Mayui outside because she's still in the restroom, fixing her appearance by wearing sweet perfume and some lip gloss. She always wants to look presentable and elegant every time and everywhere.

As you were waiting outside, you saw Miyagi laughing along with Mitsui and Sakuragi. They were laughing about Rukawa's fan girls. You look away when Miyagi looked in your direction. You avoid his gaze because you will just remember what he said to you.

"Y-y/n-chan," Miyagi called. Mitsui and Sakuragi also looked up in your direction.

"Y/n-saaaan!" Sakuragi said out loud.

"Hi, Y/n-san." Mitsui greeted simply.

"Hello," You greeted back awkwardly. You could feel that Miyagi is feeling guilty looking at you.

"Y/n-chan, can we talk for a minute-"

Miyagi was cut off by Mayui.

"She doesn't need to talk to Ryota Miyagi. You already chose Ayako, why would you still talk to my best friend?" Mayui said chewing her gum.

"Mayui, uh, Ry-Ryota-kun don't mind her she's just-"

"Huh! No! Ryota, please avoid Y/n and make her move on from you. You just hurt her feelings just after comforted you. Didn't you drool over Ayako? Just go to her, duh!" Mayui rolled her eyes.

"Oi! He just wanted to talk to her Mayui," Mitsui defended.

"And so what? You fucker!"

"Ugh! You're annoying Mayui!" Mitsui said frustratingly.

"You're the one who's annoying here Mitsui!" She rolled her eyes at Mitsui crossing both of her arms.

"Eh? Y/n-san like you Ryo-chin?"

"You're so dum Hanamichi!" Mitsui and Mayui said at the same time

"Huh?!"

"C'mon Y/n. We're just wasting our time here." Mayui then started to walk and that you don't have much of a choice but to follow her.

"I'm sorry Ryota-kun but I have to go." You said without looking at him.

After that encounter, you cried for the one last time and Mayui ended up comforting you.

"Oh c'mon! You have to get over it! Ryota isn't the only handsome guy in this school, in this world. There are many guys out there. C'mon, why not we make ourselves busy in the meantime? Let's go out, go to your favorite places and- Oh, all of your favorite places were with Ryota."

"Mayuiiiiiii, am I that childish?" You rant.

"No! You're not. You are just cute and Ayako is just..."

"Beautiful." You finished her sentence.

"Yeah, she is beautiful." Mayui agreed.

"But not because Ayako is beautiful, you're not beautiful. Of course, you are! You are beautiful in your own way and Ryota doesn't see that in you because he's into Ayako. Remember, he even asks a few girls just to get over with Ayako but none of them said yes to him and you're lucky that he didn't ask you out because if he did, nah, I'm sure you will feel more hurt than this." Mayui said fixing her bangs.
