A Few Minutes Later...

Katniss and Gale's vision were attacked by the camera's surprising light so much, that Katniss nearly tripped a few times. Luckily, Gale was there to catch her. They were led by the peacekeepers into a train. Soon, they sat down together on a couch.

"Gale..." Katniss started, almost crying.

"Shhh...don't worry, Katnip." Gale said, taking her into his arms, "Everything's going be okay."

Gale then started to get Katniss to already talk a bit with stradegy.  Soon, a still-drunk Haymitch came into the room, stopping the two.  It was embarrassing when he fell.  Katniss soon became very annoyed with him.

"Stop it." she snapped.

"Or what?" asked Haymitch.

"This." Gale replied.

He then grabbed Haymitch's bottle and threw it literally through the window. Katniss plunged a knife about an inch from Haymitch's hand at nearly the same time. Haymitch could tell that these two seem to be a duo and are synchronized.

"You better sober up before you get us killed." Katniss said, looking at him darkly.

"Wow," said Haymitch, "looks like I got a pair of fighters this year."

His voice got more collected and even more amazed. Haymitch then looks at Gale. He then looks at the window where Gale threw out his bottle. He then looked back at Gale, as if he were studying him.

"I can see that you're pretty strong." he said, "That'd come in real handy in hand-to-hand combat."

He looked back at the window. Then at Katniss. He deeply hoped that the knife stunt wasn't all she could do, but he already knew that it wasn't.

"And you?" he asked.

"She's a great shot with a bow." Gale answered for Katniss.

"So are you." replied Katniss, smiling, activating like it's obvious, "Anyway, you can set better snares."

"You're a legend with that bow. And you can climb trees."

"You weigh more, that's fifty pounds on you and every inch of it is pure muscle."

"You can swim faster."

"Oh, yeah, you're right, it takes me two strokes to match one of yours."

While the two apparently scowled at each other, they smiled. Despite the two clearly being frustrated with each other. Haymitch was already getting annoyed by their "friendly argument". He held his hands out.

"Alright, alright, I get it." He said, "It's clear that you're both very skilled. So I'm assuming that you two wish to train together."

Gale and Katniss both looked at each other. Gale nodded his head. They knew that they'd get this far. Katniss then looked to Haymitch and nodded in agreement.

"Good." he said, "Now, tomorrow, you're going to meet your stylists. Do not object to anything they are going to do. They know dang well what they're doing. Don't agitate other tributes once onboard the chariots.  You'll have a chance to earn some sponsors."

Gale then explained that it'd be best if he and Katniss were to train together only when the Careers aren't watching them.  This is how the Careers will think that there's no contest of any kind.  They'd have to even have a bit of bad blood during this whole thing.

Later in the Afternoon...

Dinner was served with lavish dishes. Lamb stew, creamy sauces, chocolate covered strawberries. If there was anything at all that was good or perhaps great about the capital was the giant fact that it had good food. Effie noticed Katniss and Gale eating with the forks and spoons.
