I've been with Ze, Ana, and Gavin for about a day now. They took me to this mountain city simply called "Utopia". So far I like it here. I haven't been very social but I've been hanging out with Ana and Gavin quite a bit. Ana's 18 and Gavin's 16, they also told me that Ze is 17. Ze avoids me as much as possible so I do the same to him.
From the second I got here until now, Ze has been planning something. "Anthony!" Ze calls from a good fifty feet away. He signals for me to come to him, and I do.
"Yes?" I question.
"I wanna show you something!" He tells me. There is light in his eyes and a sly smile on his face.
"Um, sure." I don't know why I answer because even if I didn't want to I would have to anyways.
He walks me over to a small building lodged inside a cliff. It has no windows which worries me a little bit. What does he want to do with me? He almost opens the door but then he turns around to tell me something, "Oh! I almost forgot!" He pulls a bandana out of his pocket and blindfolds me.
I feel his hand touch my shoulder and he guides me inside. He tells me to sit down and I do, slowly. I hear clicks as if something's unlocking. Sure enough, Ze handcuffs me. "Ze if you're going to kill me I prefer if you just do it now and get it over with, I won't run away like I have from every other issue in my life. I except my fate." I say.
"Oh I'm not going to kill you," Ze laughs, "Jerry is."
"Who's Jerry?" I ask, my voice shaky. I feel something touch my back, it has hairy legs and it crawls slowly. A spider.
"Jerry is a rare Australian vampiric spider. His venom is one of the most toxic among all arachnids. You will die." Sweat drips down the back of my neck and on to my back. Ze gets close to my ear and whispers, "Goodbye Anthony."
Jerry is moving up my back slowly. I'm just waiting for his fangs to pierce into my back and for the slow, painful death Ze wishes upon me. Suddenly I hear the door click open. Relief rushes through me. "ZE!" Ana yells, "What are you thinking?!" Her footsteps sound like they're getting closer.
"Stop right there!" Ze orders, the sound of Ana's footsteps stop. "If he can calm down then I might save him!" Just as he says that I notice how shaky and frantic I really am.
I try to steady my breathing but I can't, not with this giant spider crawling up my back. "It can't hurt me, it can't hurt me, it can't hurt me, I won't let it." I tell myself. I know I'm lying, I can hurt me, but saying this makes me remember, it's just a spider.
My breathing steadies, I stop shaking, and I stop sweating. I feel the blindfold being taken off of me. Ana's face full of worry at first, but then she smiles. She takes the handcuffs off me. The thought of being out of this mess is amazing.
I almost stood up, but then I feel Jerry's fangs piercing into my back. I completely forgot he was still on me. I fall to the floor and let out a cry of agony. The pain is unbearable and I wouldn't wish this on my worst enemy.
I feel nauseous, my vision blurry, I vomit blood all over the floor. I've never felt worse in my life. I see Ana and Ze one last time, and then it all goes black.
