A/N- Y'all, honestly, this chapter just makes my little heart sing!
We stop running, the four of us all out of breath. Ana shoots a dirty look at Ze. She slaps him. "I thought you where our friend," she growls, "but you can't even tell us your real name!"
"Ana I can explain!" Ze says.
"I don't wanna talk to you right now!" She yells, "What did you think we where gonna do if you told us? Rat you out?" Ze looks at the ground and kicks around the dirt. "I don't even think I can call you my friend anymore."
She rolls her eyes and storms off, Gavin follows her. I stare at Ze, he slides down on a tree on the brink of tears. He hugs his knees. "I'm more forgiving than that." I say, sitting down next to him. "She's just being dramatic, girls do that."
"Anthony please," he mumbles, "leave me alone."
I sigh and try to apply some of my life to this, "Before my dad died, he was a psychiatrist and he taught me three thing most people do when they need to talk." It's hard talking about my dad, but at the same time, it helps me get some stuff off my chest. I continue, "One, hugging your knees, two, sudden change in eye color, and three, specifically saying you don't want to talk. All of which you are doing."
"Change in eye color?" Ze raise one eyebrow.
"Your eyes are usual blue and green," I say, "now they're more of a purple and red." I didn't know someone's eyes could turn those colors. "I actually think it's amazing on you." I bite my tongue, I'm always so out loud for some reason and I hate that.
"Are you flirting with me?" Ze asks. I suddenly realize I am, I bite my lip, I've never really thought of myself as flirty.
I'm also honest, so I tell him, "Actually, I am." I've either just earned myself a relationship or a smack in the face.
"I didn't know that you're one to flirt," the corners of his mouth turn up, "but sadly I don't have anything about you, but I might have something better." I open my mouth to ask what it is but his lips interrupt me. Yes I have kissed people before, but I've never felt anything.
I push him on the ground and continue to kiss him. "Is this what you want?" He says against my lips.
"Yes," I respond. Part of me says to keep going, part of me says I'm fifteen, he's seventeen, this isn't going to work. But right now, I don't trust my brain, age and logic don't matter. I haven't been this happy sense before my brother Aaron died.
We pull away from each other and stand up. "By the way," I laugh, "that was way better than flirting."
He looks at the ground and smiles, "thanks," I could tell he's trying to catch his breath and so am I. "Where do you think Ana and Gavin are?"
I really don't care. I wrap my arms around his neck and rest my forehead against his. "Who cares?" I think back to when I said that we didn't have much of a future and slowly start to tell myself I'm wrong. I don't know why I didn't start flirting sooner.
Ze laughs, "Was that your first kiss?"
"I'm fifteen not nine." I tell him. I kiss him again.
"Oh my god." We turns out heads and look at Ana. Her eyes widen. She shakes her head and grabs my arm, "I'll ask you later, we don't have time."
As I run after her I hear cries of agony get closer. I see Gavin on the ground, clutching his stomach and vomiting blood all over the grass. She looks at him then back at me. "Why do you think I know what to do?" I ask.
"I don't know!" She responds, "Just do something!"
She should know I'm not the smartest one in the group. I stare him, tears of pain stream down his face, his skin pale like he hadn't seen the sun in two months. Suddenly the truth punches through my chest like a sword. "We can't save him."
"No," she cries, bursting into tears, "we can't let him die, he's one of my best friends." His vomiting suddenly stops and he sits up, still weak.
"Ana?" His eyes which are usually black have turned gray. She doesn't answer. I look at her, she seems almost memorized. I turn to the white rose field in front of us, Gavin's blood had reaches one of the roses and it turns red.
Then all the others turn red too.A/N- DO YOU SHIP IT YET?! Hope you enjoyed!
