Chapter 14

Weeks Later
"Alright miss Lopez, I suggest you take these few days a little easy. Don't get up too much. Rest as much as you can and drink plenty of water. You're lucky you're friends found you so quickly." The doctor gave a soft smile. "They really care about you." He gave me a few pills and Mikey, Cal, Ash, Iliana and I walked out. Ash and Calum helped me walk by grabbing my hands. I got into the car and we drove home.
"How are ya doing?" Mikey says.
"I'm doing fine, you?"
"I'm good... How's it with Luke." Suddenly everyone faced him except for calum who was driving, he was looking through the rearview mirror.
"It's actually pretty well. Apart from the fact he only visited me once this whole time."
"Do you guys want some Jack in the Box? I want some Jack in the Box." Ash quickly says trying to change the subject.
"Yea me too. Do you guys want some?" Iliana and Mikey nod and I shrug. I wasn't really hungry.
"C'mon Leslie you gotta eat." Mikey shakes my arm until I finally give in. "Yay okay. But you guys know I don't like eating in cars."
"Well we can't eat in there. I guess we have to wait to eat at home?" It was weird, but adorable for Calum to call my house "home".
"Well I guess." Mikey said.
"Hi welcome to Jack in the Box what can I get for you today?"
"Uh can I have five of your Jumbo Jacks please?"
"And what would you like for the drinks?"
"All Sprites."
"Alright will that be all for you today?"
"Yes."
"Okay you're total is $21.85"
"Okay thank you."
"Wait guys, don't you think they'll know who you are?" Iliana asks worriedly.
Ashton faces her. "They won't chase us right?"
"I don't know guys, people go crazy over you. Me included." Iliana leans in and gives Ashton a kiss. The car fills with gagging noises and "eww"'s. "Oh shut up, like you've never seen that before." Iliana jokes. "But I suggest you guys to somehow change your appearance." Cal and Ash grab sunglasses. "Brilliant." Iliana says sarcastically. "Okay Michael you don't need anything since you're in the back and on the left side and the car has tinted windows. I guess those sunglasses will have to do."
We drive to the window to pay. The employee seemed completely normal which we took as a sign saying she didn't recognize them. We drive up again to pick up our food.
"Here you- oh my god." We freeze, if she finds out she might tell other people 5sos is in our city. It'll cause a commotion. "You're Calum Hood and Ashton Irwin!"
"Please, we just want our food."
"Oh yea here. Can I get a picture please?"
"We're really sorry, we can't let people find out we're here."
"Oh..."
"Yea we're really sorry." Calum drove off.
"Dang Calum." Iliana stares.
"What?"
"Don't you think that was a little harsh?"
"You said you don't want people finding us, that's what it takes. You have to say no sometimes." Iliana lays back and doesn't speak. The drive home was kind of quiet. The only sound was the radio.
We reach home and Calum helps me into the house. Step by step I feel it getting harder to walk. Like something was waiting for me inside. Ashton opens the door only to reveal Luke standing there with a banner over his head reading "Welcome Home".
He smiles and starts walking toward me.
"Luke, I think you should leave." Mikey cuts in front of me putting his hand out.
Luke stops and furiously eyes Michael. "She forgave me Michael."
"But I didn't. She was bawling for you Luke! You can't just assume things and leave! She loved you so much and you decided that what you felt was happening actually happened, but it didn't. You let your head get to you."
"I know Michael. But I know what I did wasn't right. I get that now. I'm sorry I jump to conclusions too quickly. But you know that I'm just that kind of person."
Tensions were rising and I couldn't help but to get in. "Mikey you said it yourself, once Luke feels the slightest loss of affection, he'll think he's lost everything and he'll leave. I get that you're mad at him, hell I was too, but I know what he was feeling and I probably would've done the same thing."
Michael turns to me and then turns back to Luke. He slowly walks to him. "Don't ever hurt her again. You're still my brother, but she's fragile and you can't just do that to a girl, especially one you love." Michael looks back at me then walks to the living room.
