>Play song whenever<
Nico's POV:
"Will, I still don't feel good" I asked.
"Chiron said he thought he had an idea of what was wrong," Will said.
He handed me a pregnancy test. I looked up at Will, who was staring at me hoping I would take it. I nodded and Will stood outside the bathroom as I peed on the stick.
He came in when I was done, and we held each other. The timer went off and I couldn't look. Will looked before hugging me again holding my head against his chest.
"Is it positive?" I heard myself asking.
"Yeah. It is," Will said.
I started crying and we stayed like that do awhile. We are still pretty young. I'm barely 16, but I want to keep this baby. Will doesn't have to stay, but I want to raise this baby with him.
"Do you want to keep the baby?" Will asked.
"Yeah," I said.
"Then, I'll stay with you. You can't get rid of me that easily," Will said.
>Time skip<
"Asher Di Angelo - Solace! You will listen to your mother," Will said.
"Mom's wrong though! I'm old enough to do things on my own! I'm thirteen!" Asher yelled back.
"Stop yelling, Asher. I need more information before I let you go. I don't want to let you go, but I will if there will be parents," I said.
"Everyone else's parents let them go! I don't understand why you won't let me go!" Asher yelled.
"You don't deserve to go now. You're grounded," Will said.
"Mom!" Asher said, turning to me.
"Will's right. You're grounded," I said.
"I hate you!" Asher said, running up the stairs.
I heard his door slam and I broke down in tears. Will rubbed my back easing me on to one of the stools. He helped me calm down a bit. It's all of the hormones running through my body.
Will rubbed my baby bump kissing every inch of skin he could find. It tickled especially since I could feel the flutter of his lips. The baby moved, kicking at the onslaught of kisses. Will gently rubbed my skin. He loves the feeling of the baby kicking. I, on the other hand, do not.
"He will get over it," Will said.
"I know. He's stubborn like me though. Maybe I should offer an olive branch through food?" I suggested.
"He would like the food, but you are under no obligation to conform to his wants," Will said.
I decided to make his favorite. Spaghetti from scratch the way he likes it. I finished a few hours later. I hadn't even realized I had been standing that long. I'm not supposed to stand for prolonged periods of time, but I'm sure only one time won't kill me.
Asher's POV:
I don't understand why my parents won't let me go. I know they want to protect me and all that stuff, but they are overbearing. I wouldn't do anything I thought would kill me.
Dad always said I'm a step above the rest, so why can't he see that now? They treat me like a baby. Mom has become even more overbearing too ever since he got pregnant. He coddles me and always wants to spend time with me. It's annoying and I want to go out with my friends.
I heard something crash to the floor downstairs. Usually, the house is quiet when everyone is busy. I opened my door and the heavenly scent of spaghetti wafted into my room.
I decided to investigate. When I went downstairs, mom was passed out on the floor. I panicked and tried to shake mom awake but he wouldn't wake up. A plate was on the floor shattered, spaghetti everywhere.
Blood was pooling under Mom and I froze. There are so many reasons. Dad taught me to call him if anything was wrong, so that's what I did. He didn't pick up even when I called him five times.
Dad is working the late shift today, so he is probably delivering a baby. He probably doesn't have his phone on himself. I gave up, calling Uncle Percy.
Uncle Percy: Hey Nico, what's up!
Me: It's Asher. Mom isn't responding and Dad isn't picking up.
Uncle Percy: What happened?
Me: Mom made me Spaghetti because I wasn't feeling my best. I got mad earlier and said I hated Mom. Then, I came downstairs when I heard a crash. Mom was unresponsive on the floor.
Uncle Percy: I will be right over. Make sure Mom is comfortable.
Me: I will, but please hurry.
I hung up getting Mom comfortable. Mom's eyes fluttered open for a second but closed again. I cleaned up the spaghetti, sitting next to Mom when I was done.
"Asher!" Uncle Percy called.
"Kitchen hallway!" I replied.
Uncle Percy came in, sucking in a breath. He grabbed a few towels wiping up the blood. He got a towel putting it in between Mom's legs.
"What's going to happen?" I asked.
"Asher, I don't want to scare you, but I'm not focused on you right now. I'm worried about Mom," Uncle Percy said.
I nodded tears threatening to spill. Uncle Percy drove us to the hospital. Dad finally answered his phone and said he would meet us in the emergency room.
"Mine," Dad said, when he saw us.
He had other doctors and nurses rush over. I watched as they shouted orders at each other. Dad grabbed some equipment yelling orders. Uncle Percy had left to go park the car.
I asked a nurse what was happening, but she ignored me. Another nurse came to sit with me. Uncle Percy had to go home since it was late at night. The nurse sat with me asking me questions that I didn't want to answer. Instead, I was on my phone hoping she would take the hint and leave me alone.
Dad came out, looking defeated. He must have been asked to leave the room since he is family. He talked to the nurse for a few minutes inputting things into the iPad. I'm sure they were for Mom.
He beckoned me forward and we went into his office. He had a futon that I used to love to pull out when I was younger.
Dad noticed me tugging on the futon and he came over to help. I moved some of the pillows that were on there. He was the head of his department, so the office was a bonus.
I got a blanket and settled into the bed next to Dad. Dad kept checking his phone and looking over Mom's chart to see what was happening.
"How are you doing?" Dad asked.
I looked at Dad and shook my head. I started to cry and Dad pulled me closer so I was sitting in his lap. He rubbed my back telling me that everything was going to be okay.
I sniffled a bit burying my head in his neck, my crying resuming. The last thing I told Mom was that I hated him. What if that the last thing I ever said?
"Is Mom going to be okay?" I asked.
"You don't need to worry about anything like that," Dad said.
"Tell me the truth. I'm old enough to understand," I said.
Dad pulled me close taking some deep breaths. I realized that he was crying too. I have seen Dad cry, but he doesn't cry in front of me usually. It's always hidden so he doesn't have to burden me.
"Mom is having complications with the pregnancy. He has something called placental abruption. Usually, the placenta, what the baby is in, is attached to the wall of Mom's uterus, but it isn't connected anymore," Dad started.
"So, is that why there was blood everywhere?" I asked.
"Yeah. This can cause a lot of bleeding and even be deadly for the baby and Mom. We have good doctors here though who are trying their hardest to help Mom," Dad said. I nodded falling asleep on Dad hoping that everything would be okay.
