News boy/girl

・❥・     "Hey Broadcaster! Heads up!" I yelled in a taunting voice, throwing a newspaper at him. This is my favorite part about this job. Being able to smack people who have done nothing wrong with newspapers. It doesn't get better than this.
Resting my hands back on the handles of my bicycle, I continue Peatling through the town as carefree as ever. I pedaled down my favorite alleyway to drop off the last pieces of newspaper. Our town is surprisingly small considering there's quite a lot of us here. I'm just glad I got an early start. I started at 6 in the morning, finishing by almost 8 in the morning. Pedaling a little faster through the narrow streets to drop off as much as I could. I had forgotten what was so special about today, to be honest, hmm…I wonder what I'm forgetting since I was in such a rush when I woke up. Taking one last turn, I stopped at the final house. Setting the newspaper aside I hopped back onto my bicycle.
"Hello News girl/Boy, how have you- (yawn) excuse me.. how have you been?" Said a gentle yet raspy voice. Fixing my hat I look in Investigator's direction. "Heh, everything's been fine. You were the last person I was dropping off the newspaper for!" I replied happily.
"That's nice, you better get going then I don't want to waste your time" he said softly, picking up his newspaper, he started skimming through it slowly.
"Nonsense, I have nothing important to do today anyways, it's always a pleasure talking to you." I said making sure I had everything on me, ready to drop off my uniform at my job. "Really? Oh, my apologies. I thought you had plans with someone considering it's valentines day-'' He paused slightly "Anyways, it's my day off... I'm going to sleep in some more, have a good rest of your morning." He yawned going back inside. I paused for a moment tracing over his words. GAH- How stupid can I be?! Valentine's day?! I thought it was tomorrow!! Fixing myself, making sure I had my protective gear on, I quickly started pedaling out of the Alleyways into a nearby bakery.
Hopping off my bike, I quickly entered the store. Geez how could I forget what today was- Wait!- what was [Reader]'s favorite pastry again?! Mentally panicking, I just ordered some donuts while paying for them. Grabbing them I placed them in the small basket of my bike. I quickly made a few more stops at some local stores buying what I thought [Reader] would like.
Finally my last destination was [Reader]'s house. I quickly grabbed everything and attempted to get to the door. I quickly knocked on the door and tried my best to stay patient. A few seconds later I could hear footsteps coming towards the door. I quickly backed up a little and saw my partner by the door "heh- uh... Happy Valentine's day." I said with a cheesy smile while still trying to hold up the large amount of items I had bought. They sighed with a small smile on their face and let me inside.
God- next time I'll make sure to plan ahead of time... it was so tiring pedaling around town in a rush...
