LOOSING GRIP

I turned around as soon as the sound registered in my mind. The heat hit my face as I got closer to the door. The air was thicker, and the dark gray debris floating in the air made my chock.
I wiped open the blistering hot door knob, and ran into the dark smoke that was my home.
I tripped and fell over things that had been moved in the blow, all the while hoping to find Aden on the ground groaning, it was all I could expect to hope for. I reached my room, what used to be my room anyway.
I could see the light of the sun trying to get through the cracks in the ceiling, the wall had been blown out, was lying in big piles all over the yard.
I could see the charred mess of the room through the dust and debris, I couldnt see Aden.
I coughed and made my way toward the open end of the house. Tears filled my eyes as logic filled my head.
It was obvious the blast had been in my room, where Aden had been standing, so he was either blown to bits, or completely incinerated in the heat.
My heart throbbed in my chest, as the pain hit me. Aden was really gone, this time it had gone too far.
I chocked on a sob as I hit the blistering hard wood floors, even as that pain didn't register past the numb strangled feeling in my chest.
Someone had set that bomb. Someone had meant for it to go off. Rain droops still fell despite the sun being out, but I couldn't feel them.
I pulled myself to my feet, looking about the rubble for anything. My eyes landed on one thing that made my heart stop completely.
A hand hung limply from a dark space between too prices of the wall. A hand that had too much color to be dead. Aden was there, but I couldnt bring myself to move any closer.
Caught in a daze and beyond my own strength to carry on I couldn't help the desperation in my voice as I screamed his name. My knees collapsed, and my own heart stopped. He was weakening. Dying. Aden was being lost.

It was so dark, so cold. I felt my bones bend under a weight too large for my human body.
My hand had gone numb, the heat had seared all of my strength in one blast. The deafening boom of a bomb had not been missed.
My mind was still clear, but I couldn't feel my body. It was too cold. I didn't have the strength I needed to call out for help. I knew I needed it. . .
I rested my head against something rough as I let my sore muscles relax. The darkness had nothing to hold on to, nothing. . . "ADEN!"
Yeah that's my name. . ."ADEN!" I tried to lift my head to answer, but I couldn't help but slip away. . .
