I could feel her breath, the rasp in her voice as she inhaled. I pulled the cover around her, and covered her bare legs.
Her shoulder probably hurt. I grabbed her hand, and felt the raised bumps on her wrist. I could feel the star pattern against my palm.
This icy feeling filled me, racing straight through me.
She'd cut herself. I swore as I left the bed. Disoriented as I was, I tripped and hit the ground.
I felt the rough scratch of dried paint on my arm. I turned around and stared at the canvas I knew was there. I couldn't see it.
All I could see was black. It was blank. For the first time, I felt blank too.

Mr. Dillon woke up on the front step of one of his singers homes. He blinked before checking his watch. It was barely three in the afternoon. What was he doing here?
He stood to shaking legs and looked down at his open zipper. Puzzled he adjusted himself and walked to his car. The stack of money in the passenger seat made him nervous until he grabbed the stack and shoved it inside his coat.
He didn't know what happened, but daddy was getting a little loving tonight. He laughed shortly as he pulled out of the parking spot and back to his club where ZJ was preping.
