022 - Invitations

"WHY does your president keep looking over here?" Sora frowned in displeased. If he has something to say to Yewon, shouldn't he come to their table?

Mia stiffens hearing that. She pretends to drink and steals glances to where the said guy is standing in queue. He pulls a soft smile when he catches her looking.

"Yesterday, I happened to witness something." Yewon switched on her interrogation mode. It took less than a second for her to gain attention from Sora and of course, Mia.

Mia looks away, sipping her drink again. She seems very thirsty at the moment causing Yewon to smile. Because Mia is nervous.

"We are just good friends," Mia finally decided to speak about it, "for now." she added. Sora's head spun so fast to look at Mia who is just by her side.

"What? Who? What are we talking about?"

Yewon gave Mia a look at whether she wanted to relay the news or should Yewon spill the tea. Mia nodded her chin to Yewon.

"Apparently, Eunwoo is pursuing Mia." Yewon spills the tea.

"I KNEW IT!"

Both Yewon and Mia raised their brow. They were expecting a shrieking scream of 'what' not this. And it was rare to see Mia getting confused while it was a normal occasion to see Sora smiling smugly.

"I kinda knew. Especially when he was so obvious about it."

Mia's cheek flushed in red.

"We're really just good friends."

"That was not what you said earlier."

"I did tell you that." Mia search for Yewon's eyes asking for help.

"But you also said 'for now'..." Yewon chose Sora's side, almost making Mia roll her eyes in disbelief.

"You have nothing to say." Sora laughed after her own remark. Yewon giggled when she bumped her shoulder.

Mia gave up on defending herself as she cannot contain her flaming red face anymore. Seeing Mia like that only makes Sora laugh louder.

"Why are you so red, Mia?"

Three of them turned their heads to look at the smiling Jimin. He looks amused.

"Nothing. What's up?" Mia took this chance to quickly change the topic and focus of attention.

Jimin haven't say anything yet, but glance over to Yewon.

"Um," he started saying and they waited patiently. Jimin then sighed and scratched his eyebrow, "Have you got my birthday party invitation this Saturday?"

"Ah... Yes we did."

"Why? Is there a change?" Yewon quickly asked. Jimin genuinely looked troubled before he masked it with a smile and shook his head.

"Nah, just making sure." He glances at Yewon again. "I'll see you all on Saturday, then." he awkwardly raised his hand to bid goodbye and slightly bowed his head as he left.

"Did we forget to wish him birthday?" Mia watched Jimin left still looking troubled even after 'making sure' they got his invitation. His birthday was last Tuesday, but the celebration was put on hold until the weekend.

"No, I texted him first thing that morning." Yewon shook her head. Jimin is still her friend and moving on has nothing to do with not celebrating a friend's birthday.

"Did Runa forget?" Sora whispered. In a relationship, forgetting important dates such as birthdays can spark a war!

"No way. She was the first to give him a birthday present." Yewon denied. She saw with her own eyes. And she accompanied Runa to buy him a gift prior to their tuition last week.
