The next morning, I looked even more like I hadn’t slept in days as usual, but that was because I actually hadn’t slept at all last night, just thinking about her offer, but I have decided. I’m going to the introduction with the principal this afternoon. This may be the best or the worst decision I've ever taken but I'm doing it. I will then decide if I will actually go to school or go back to my normal life. Now I will just go steal some food, probably will take a while, then eat it and regret the decision I've made, but it is final, I am going!

I haven’t actually named my squirrel friend yet by the way, crazy right! I’ve known him for 8 years now, half my life and I haven’t even given him a name. I will name him Risu, Japanese for squirrel.

It is time to go to the school, and I am currently the most nervous person on the planet probably. As I am walking to school, I am regretting every decision I have ever made, but it might all be worth it. When I finally arrive at the school after what feels like hours but was only about five minutes, I get even more nervous, what if one of the teachers recognises me? But alright I walk into her office practically unnoticed by any teachers or students.

She greets me very formally, which is unusual for me, because normally people treat me like I am just some hobo living on the streets. I sit down in her fancy chair, the last time I sat on a chair that wasn’t made from just wood was in the lab, I shiver from all the bad memories coming up. She says that she wasn’t expecting me to actually come considering my hesitant behaviour in the treehouse. I told her that I did hesitate to come, but that I eventually decided to go anyways even though my parents are not here. We talked about the school and how nice all the kids were. And when I left, I actually felt like an appreciated, respected human being, which was sort of refreshing.

Meanwhile at the school one of the teachers was feeling quite delighted, because he was the one that actually told the principal where I live, and he secretly works at the lab. He also planted a twenty-dollar bill on the ground, so he could see if she was actually coming or not...
