⥗ • Chapter 27 | Pleasant surprise •

It took quite some time for the both of you to get to the town and Bridal store as Zandik said that he had an amazing one he wanted you to get your dress in. It was quite annoying as he said that he has to pick up something for your small trip while telling you to only look around the store. Happily it didn't take you long as you didn't find one that caught your eye and you thought that it was gonna be useless anyways, Now you stood near the bridal store, waiting for him to come back with whatever he needed..

Eventually he'd finally walk up to you and the two of you would immediately get on your way to.. well.. wherever he planned to. It has been half an hour already and there wasn't a single word exchanged between the two of you, that was until he finally spoke " Have you chosen a dress for.. " he said with a pause " Our wedding. " he muffled with a small scoff.

" None caught my eye. " you said bluntly as you kept on looking forward before you felt Zandik stop in his tracks and pull you back torwards him as he had his arm interwined with yours.

" None caught your eye? I thought that you wouldn't be able to choose. " he said before you tilted your head at his words " As in.. I thought you had more dresses you chose and just couldn't decide. " he said along with a scoff.

You sighed at his reaction before you tried dragging him forward only for him to pull you back again " Let's continue.. I'm cold. " you whimpered out as you looked back at him.

" We're already here. " he said before taking your hands and pulling you towards him before turning you around to let you see the view in front of the both of you " This is what I wanted you to see, Y/N. "

The view you now looked at was the sun setting down in the distance " Whoa.. " was the only thing you could say before you felt his arms protectively wrap around you as well as his coat to keep you warm. You watched it for a few minutes before you moved your hands up to his and put them on top of them before looking up at him, that was where you caught a glimpse of his crimson reds looking down at you.

" What do you think of- " he muttered before you quickly cut him off as you pressed your lips against his, a while passed by and you'd try to pull away only for him to lean lower and deepen the kiss more as his arms tightened around you and pulled you even closer to the point the tip of his mask would poke your cheek in a slightly painful manner.

Eventually he'd pull away and look down at you with what seemed like a pleased smile on his lips, you could only look at him in silence before the pure and gentle smile made it's way onto yours " I suppose this means that- " you said before he put a hand over your mouth and his smile disappeared for a moment.

" Don't ruin the moment. " he said before tilting his head upwards and looking at the sunset once more while keeping his arms tightly around you. You'd only close your mouth and keep the smile while you looked at the sunset along with him before you felt happiness overcome your mind to the point you even forgot about your sadness and anger you felt towards him..

The next morning you felt much better than ever due to what you've experienced yesterday. It was strange to know that the Doctor held some feelings towards you as well but you were happy, that was until you were standing behind him in the dinning room as all the other Harbingers sat at their chairs along with their assistants..

" I suppose we are clear about the preparations for the ball. " said Pierro as he looked around the room at everyone " Each Harbinger, along with their assistant will take a paper from the bowl that stands near the door and do whatever it has written on it. " he said before looking over at both you and Zandik " Are we clear, Dottore? " he said with a purely serious tone.

" Of course. " he scoffed before getting up and gesturing for you to follow him with his hand. As soon as the two of you reached the door he'd pick up a small folded paper from the bowl and hand it to you before leaving the room with you behind him.

You looked at the paper for a moment hoping it would be something interesting and easy, that was until you opened it and read it " Um..Zandik? " you murmured as you made your way beside him and showed the paper to him.

" Waltz? Such nonsense. " he scoffed before taking the paper into his hand and shoving it inside his pocket " Surely they made it up just so it would be on each paper. " You looked at him with a hum before a smile crept up onto your face and he looked down at you with a curious expression " What are you smiling about? " he asked.

" Oh, I just thought about how nice it would be to dance with you. " you murmured as you looked at him with a pleased smile only to receive a grumble from him " Is something wrong with such? " you asked him.

" No, Not at all. " he scoffed before stopping and taking your hand to pull you closer to him and hold you by your waist " I just feel hurt as you've never asked ME to dance with you. "

You looked up at him before a giggle left your lips as you realised how childish he actually was before moving onto your tip toes and placing a kiss on the tip of his mask " So childish. " you murmured with a pause " But the reason is that you never gave me the chance to even ask you as you were always busy or one of us was sick. "

He looked at you and hummed before nodding " I suppose you have a point. " he said before reaching his hand over to your cheek and slightly pinching it " But I'm still quite upset about it. "

" Aww.. do you want some kisses you big baby? " you murmured in a sweet voice before he scoffed and let go off of you to walk past you with a grumble " Aw come on! I wasjust joking around Zandik- "

" I'm aware. " he said as he offered you his arm to hold onto as the two of you walked towards the ballroom together. Since yesterday, he's been quite calm and he seemed more pleased as well.. yet you wondered for how long it would last as he was unpredictable. You only hoped for the two of you to be able to live without any trouble..

So here we finally revealed that the Doctor might hold some feelings towards us.. well.. at least that's what we've figured out ourselves as he hasn't said it himself. I also decided I'd write more fluff as you guys deserve it due to the last chapters being quite angsty, I'm still sorry for those-

But no need to worry about it being boring due to the amount of fluff or anything, I still have lots of things planned that will flip many and MANY things in the story, but that's for the upcoming chapters ;)
