⥗• Chapter 02 | The strange letter & a new beginning.. •

Both you and Nilou danced until sunset before the first guests arrived and you chickened out, leaving Nilou on the stage as she entertained them with her performance. You wished you could dance so badly but due to your clumsiness you'd always miss a step or trip on the worst times possible.. which wasn't fun when someone was around..

" Y/N! " called out Kaveh as he saw you approach the Akademiya. You'd only turn your head around and nod it as a greetings before he handed you a letter " Al Haitham told me to give you this, they managed to find a nice position at a.. uh.. I don't even know, it doesn't say anything on the Envelope.. Come on open it up, I'm curious! " he yelped out in excitement.

You'd only give him a small tired smile before taking it from his hand and ripping it open to read it. Though as you read through it all the exhaustion suddenly left you and your heart stopped. Was this supposed to be a joke? You seemed to be frozen before Kaveh let out a pout and shook with you slighty, causing you to look at him with terror in your eyes " Is this a joke or did I truly get a job offer as an assistant for a Fatui Harbinger.. "

" Whaaat?! No way! " he yelped out before taking the piece of paper from your hands and reading it himself " Nope, it's real. Even The Tsaritsa signed it herself, but that doesn't seem to be an issue now right? I mean.. you told me that your parents want you to pay millions of mora to them due to their debts from the past. " he said with a pause before looking at the paper for a moment again " Though it doesn't say which Harbinger.. "

" Harbinger? Are you guys perhaps thinking about joining the Fatui? " asked Tighnari who walked towards the both of you before handing you a book you came here for in the first place.

" Y/N has been trying to find a job with a good pay for months now and apparently The Tsaritsa, oh her Majesty- " Kaveh joked before Tighnari hit him with a book he held for himself.

He'd only give Kaveh a small hiss before looking over at your figure " Are you going to accept it? " he asked as he took the paper from Kaveh and read through it before stopping at the signatures.

" I don't know.. I mean.. " you said with a pause as you held the book close to your chest " I'm sure that they'd pay a lot and it would help me since.. well.. you know my parents. "

Tighnari nodded his head before taking the paper fully from the envelope and turning it around before showing it off to you " Every Harbinger signed it on the back, perhaps everyone's looking for an assistant. " he said with a small reassuring smile " If you do accept it.. well.. at least visit us some day in the future. "

You'd look at him before thinking for a bit " How much do you think that I'd get? "

" Perhaps ouch.. " Kaveh whimpered as he rubbed his head " Perhaps about 100 000 Mora to about half a million per month, I think it depends on which Harbinger will take you under themselves. " he said as Tighnari gave him a nod of agreement.

" There are 9 Harbingers as far as I heard, well there were 11 but I heard someone say that one spot has been open for years while the other was emptied a while ago due to someone's death. " said Tighnari as he put a finger on his chin " But if you were to be placed under the 11th Harbinger then you'd probably get only a 100 000 Mora through month, meaning that if you were to be placed under the Top 3, you'd get around half a million Mora through month. "

" Correct, oh also.. you should go and pack your things since you should arrive to Snezhnaya in Five days.. and considering how far it is from here.. you should be on your way. " said Kaveh with a small smile before straightening himself.

" Shouldn't you be working on that project of yours? " asked Tighnari before the both of you watched him Panic and say some strange things none of you understood, seems like he just had a stroke before running off.
