chapter 8

*Naila*

Me and Samira facetime every single day since I left. I love being in her company.

"Burtuqal come and see mommy" she said but burtuqal didn't respond.

"Your cat is so annoying" she said.

"I know babe. You have to be patient, burtuqal can get on people's nerves".

"She misses you so much but she is getting used to it" she added.

"I miss her too"

I had a knock at the door.

"I think someone is knocking, I will call you back" I said and went to check.

I wasn't expecting anyone and nobody knows I exist here.

I open and saw Melissa. I gave her a blank stare.

"You won't welcome your visitor?" She said.

"Come in" I said in brief. She entered and I close the door behind her.

Melissa kept disturbing me and I never gave her the chance to talk.

We sat on the couch and she look at me.

"What do you want? I asked.

"An explanation Leyla. We all know you died".

I kept looking at her trying to analyze something. I don't like Melissa and she is one of my target. The best thing I can do is to get closer to her, maybe I will find a way.

"First of all I'm not Leyla" I said.

She look at me in disbelief
"If you are not Leyla then who are you?"

"I'm Naila, Leyla's twin. We were sperated at birth".

She was shock but then she brought out how everyone's know Leyla was adopted, that she was found in the dumpster. I felt intense anger towards her for bringing that up so I told her to leave I was expecting someone.

I found myself visiting Leyla's mom as often as I could. I love being in their presence. I do sometimes get scared that she will replace her own daughter with me.

I knock and Amira open the door as usual. She welcomed me with a bright smile.

"Who is there Amira?" Leyla's mom asked.
I walk in and realized it was me. She welcomed me with a beautiful smile as usual.

I find myself falling in love with the little girl the by day.

"Look what I got you" I said as I gave her the cookies I got for her.

She jump out of excitement and thank me. I felt happy.

We started having conversation with Leyla's mom. I told her a lot about my life. The conversation somehow turn around to Leyla's conversations. She asked me to follow her and I did.

"This is Leyla's room" I was surprised to see how everything was unchanged. I felt bad because she is not ready to let go.

"This where your twin spent most of her time. I used to scold her staying in indoors too much" she giggle and I return a smiled.

And then she started crying. I don't show my emotions in front of people but I couldn't help, I cried with her. She hugged me and I hugged her back. I find myself not wanting to let go.

I was putting away the utensils I got for kitchen when I had I knock.

"Who is this at this time?" I sigh and went to check.

Melissa appear in front of me and I wasn't surprise at all. I have never met someone so annoying like her.

"Surprised" she entered excitedly.

I closed the door and gave her a blank look. We enter the living room and sat down.

"Loom what I got you. Your favorite cookies" she said

"I never ate that before"
I replied.

"Awww sometimes I forget you're not Leyla. My bad".

I kept looking at trying find out my answers. Maybe she is innocent. I make up my mind to get closer to her so I can get access to Ahmad and Hayal.

We kept having a conversation that has no direction. I tried to hide the hate I have for Hayal anytime she brought her up but I couldn't.

Melissa change her facial expression and put awag what she was eating.

"Naila do I look stupid to you? I know you're here for a reason. Why didn't you show up in all those years" she said confidentially

I get up and fold her arms.

"Yup I'm here for a reason and so you're Melissa. What do you want from me?" I said to her

"You're right. I want something from you... So we can help each other. We are targeting the same person aren't we?"

"Yes we're "  I smiled.

" first of all, Let's be friends" she said and extended her hand.
I wait for a while and she called for my attention.

"Yeah sure" I extended my hands too.
" I have plan you ready?" She asked

"Naila is always ready" I replied.

Melissa told me that she got me a job, I will work as her personal assistant. I dressed and she pick me up.

"Ready for your first day?" She asked.

"More than ready" I replied.

We arrived and walk into the office. We head in and my eyes fall into his eyes first before her. Hayal look at me and I look at her.

"Meet my new assistant" melissa said directing at me.

Guys Idk why the hell I named her cat burtuqal😭😭😭💀 anytime I writing I find it weird and funny💀.
