chapter 13

*Hayal*

The terror I felt when the police came to take Ahmad with them cannot be described. Nobody explain to me why he is getting detain. What did my husband do? Ahmad will never do anything and I will prove his innocence.

I rushed and followed them to the police station. I saw Ahmad standing talking to some people.

"Hayal"he said and look towards my direction. I rushed and hugged him so tightly.

"I ask you not to worry my love" he said.

"But I have to be worried, I can't help myself" I replied.

He reassured me that everything is okay. Someone slandered him but his lawyers are going to put on the work.

"So are we going home now?" I asked.

"No love, I will stay whole day in the station. They will take my statement but my lawyer has to arrive first".

I called his lawyer as he talk to the cop. At long last they agreed to let him go in the meantime.

"Should we stop and eat food?" He ask looking at me.

"I don't even have appetite" I said.

"Why do women lose appetite so quick?" He joke and I smiled.

"You have no idea how terrified I was".

We went to have lunch and our body was calm for a little while.

Ahmad has been busy with his lawyers trying to prove his innocence. We hardly get a quality time since the event.

I had a knock at the door and I get up.

"Coming" I said.

I opened the door and Naila appeared. My heart skipped a bit.

"Won't you let me in?" She said

"Sorry my mind was away. Come in please" I said with a smile.

We greeted each other and sat down. I wonder what she is here for.

"Tea or coffee?" I broke the awkward silence.
Everything about Naila remind of Leyla. I kept staring at her until her voice cut my thoughts.

"Tea all day everyday" she said like she was implying to something.

I get up and get her a cup of tea.

"Here you go" I said.

She take a sip "with a lot of sugar as I preferred. Is as if you know" she said we all laughed.

I put a lot of sugar because that was what Leyla preffered and sometimes I confuse Naila with Leyla.

"Your sister love sugar too" I said.

"I miss her, we didn't get to spend time.... That's why I came here to ask a few things" she replied.

She asked me so many questions about legal and I replied with what I know. Naila make me so uncomfortable with her reactions to my response. She keep acting like I'm Lying but I have nothing to lie about.

A few minutes after Leyla left I check the mail box. I saw a letter and surprisingly I didn't saw the mail man today. Did the letter arrived on it own?

"Weird" I said as I pick it up.

I saw exact the same letter like the other day. Nothing written in it. Just the letter "L". How is this a coincidence?

After a long time of going back on forth Ahmad was cleared. I have no words to describe my happiness.

Saleem, Ahmad's assistance walk in to the office. He greeted me and Ahmad. He told ahmd they were able to track the ID.

"You wouldn't believe it sir" he said.

"Who is it?" I asked.

He moved close to Ahmad and show it to him.

"There must be a mistake" Ahmad said.

"It turned out that way" he replied.

He ordered him to leave and I look at how his facial expressions changed.

"God damn it" he said and hit the table.

I flinched "what happened?" I asked.

He get up and pick up the iPad and he asked me to follow him. I follow him immediately and we entered my office.

"What's going on?" I asked.

He didn't reply instead he open my laptop.

"Explain this" he said.

Everything was sent from my laptop. But did I really sent it?

"This is the first time I'm seeing this".... I couldn't finish my sentence.

"How could you do this to me?"

"Ahmad you will regret this later. I didn't do anything" I said trying to hold him but he pull away.

"How dare you" he said out loud.

"Ahmad people will hear..."

He didn't utter anything else. He just walk away as I stood there with my heart shattered.
