I drove around aimlessly, pondering my plan of attack. Tomorrow, my colleagues would arrive, and I would assess the situation then. I had two options: either withdraw from the operation and confess everything to Paige, hoping to rebuild my life with her, or dismantle the club and come clean to Paige, seeking a fresh start together. While lost in my thoughts, a Harley-Davidson trailed behind me, prompting me to park in the lot of a small shopping center to investigate the rider's intentions.

"You're quite daring, David, not afraid to be seen with me,"I remarked as the biker approached.

"You see, Elizabeth, you're not the person you portray yourself to be. You skillfully orchestrated Brenda's misfortune, causing her to break her nose and getting Donny arrested. Your moves were calculated, like that of a chess master."

"It's just me, David. The police conveniently turned a blind eye to my assault because that corrupt cop is acquainted with the girls. They came back to threaten me, so I defended myself. I'm a Texan, and beneath my pretty exterior lies the spirit of a cactus—I can sting. David, I hold no grudge against you, but don't come here to intimidate me or fulfill some task your boss assigned you. I will protect myself.

"I'm quite certain you will," he said, flashing a smile that mirrored my own.

"May I pose a question to you?"

"Go ahead," he replied, visibly intrigued.

"I'm currently dating someone, and there's this biker, Raymond, who seems to be around us often. He's a member of your club. Should I be concerned?"

"Raymond? Why would he be around... ah... You're dating his sister. Excellent choice, and my congratulations. No one has ever made advances towards Doctor Wallace. You're in a tight spot; he's the jealous and possessive type. Now I understand why he's been agitated for the past couple of days."

I gazed at David, my smile infectious and wide.

"Is he an influential figure in the club?"

"He's a member, so he's considered family. Why do you ask?"

"If he's actively seeking me out, he'll eventually find me. This matter is personal and unrelated to the club. What kind of consequences should I anticipate?"

"It's a personal matter. Good luck, Elizabeth. I can't intervene."

"No worries. While I may not possess mechanical expertise, being from Texas means I know how to handle a gun. Do you happen to know a gunsmith who isn't too concerned about the waiting period?

"If you're interested in a .22, I can find one for you."

"I prefer the Sig Sauer P322. I appreciate its capacity and handling."

David hesitated, his gaze fixed on me, before finally providing me with an address.

"Tell them you're with me, and they'll hand it over to you immediately."

"Thank you. You're a true friend. I apologize if I gave you the wrong impression with my signals. I value our friendship, but romantically, there was never a chance."

"Be cautious. The prospects may have a fondness for you, but Bullet's commands take precedence.

"Who's Bullet?"

"Mr. Blond."

"Alright. I appreciate everything you've done for me. I hope we can remain friends."

He shakes my hand and departs. As for the mission, I arrived with my standard-issue weapon, but it seems I'll need some additional gear. Thus, I set out to meet someone who can fulfill my emotional requirements.
