"Paige, would you please go out, an officer will drive you home."
She looks at me, not understanding what I expect from her, if I'm going to torture her brother or I don't know what idea goes through her head, but she leaves, without looking at her brother, because I instilled the doubt in her mind regarding his brother's crimes. He stares at the door, in case Paige comes back. I snap my fingers in front of his ear to bring him back to reality by showing him the file. "Raymond, time is running out. I'm looking for specific information, the ones I received from your fellow motorcyclists answer questions but it's not what I want. Maybe you own it, otherwise I'll go get other MC members."
"I won't say anything."
"Damn, this loyalty it's beautiful, I almost want to cry. It's fine, it's your choice. Have you ever heard of the Pecos Law?"
Raymond's eyes narrow as he glances at the file in front of him, his expression guarded. He remains silent, seemingly unmoved by my mention of the Pecos Law.
I lean back in my chair, studying him carefully. "Raymond, I understand that loyalty is important to you, but you need to understand the gravity of the situation. The evidence against you and your involvement with the MC is substantial. If you choose to remain silent, the consequences will be severe."
I reach into my bag and pull out a folder containing additional evidence. I place it on the table, sliding it towards him. "This folder contains the Pecos Law form bearing your name that have signed. It's an old law dating back to when our ancestors colonized our beautiful and great country. What is interesting, for lovers of history and jurisprudence, is that this obscure law has never been repealed, forgotten from human memory. Also, as you are of no use to me anymore, refusing to betray the rules of the Outcast MC, so under the Pecos Law, I sentence you to be hanged and the sentence will be carried out immediately."
I get up, scraping my chair on the floor, retrieving the file and, quickly, I open the door, pretending to read the file.
"We're going with the blonde, Brenda. Prepare the ropes then we empty the place."
"Yes, ma'am," Agent Williams replies, as my colleagues enter the room.
"Wait, wait! I... I can tell you where the drug is."
"Too late, I already know, you're trying to save time?"
"The weapons, I know where the weapons are!"
"Are you lying to make a deal?"
"No, I swear!"
"So tell me everything. If you're convincing, you have a chance of getting away with it. if the information is wrong, you will regret it slowly."
Raymond's gaze flickers between me and the folder, his hands clenched into fists on the table. Carmen enters the room, putting a notepad and a pencil on the table. Raymond hesitates then begins to write an address and make a rough plan of the place, indicating how many people are there as a general rule.
"How do you get these weapons?"
Raymond, by dint of encouragement, is more than talkative. He doesn't have all the details, but the ones they give us are a great start, the location of the exchange is always the same. Raymond sweats, is exhausted so I take advantage of it.
"Where's Joey?"
Raymond talks, cries, bites himself on it. But he speaks and writes, gives details. I record everything. I wish Paige wasn't here, I'm this close to taking the gun in my back and executing him. It's impossible for me to hand Raymond over to the authorities like that, we will have to organize a scene. I leave the room, my colleagues are not there, but Paige yes, her eyes are red. She says nothing and hugs me before pulling me into the next office.
