I'm sitting in my last class of the day besides Kai. We had this and my last class together.

Fifteen minutes later the final bell was ringing signaling the end of the day.

All the students got up and made their way towards the exit.

When we reached outside I waved goodbye to Kai and turned to leave before he stopped me.

"You going home?" he asked.

Slowly I shook my head. "I uhh was just gonna go to the roof for a little bit."

He raised an eyebrow at me. "Not to do... that, don't worry I just- I don't know- like being up there I guess."

I honestly didn't know why I liked being up there.

Maybe it was because I felt as if I was free of judgment from everyone besides myself that is.

Though sometimes I can even escape from that up there.

"Come on," He nodded to his car and I knew what he meant.

"Oh umm sorry uhh I'm just-" I wasn't even sure what I was trying to say so instead I said, "look it's fine really I'm gonna walk you should go. I'm sure you have something better to do than take me places."

I turned and started walking away. Moments later he was walking beside me.

We've been walking for a few minutes in silence until he broke it.

"Are you hungry," he asked. I started to shake my head and he gave me a blank look. "Come on." Then he was taking a left and I was left to trail after him which I did so slowly.

He led us to a small diner. He held the door open for me and I thanked him.

"You wanna eat here or on the roof?" He asked.

"It doesn't matter, up to you." I responded though looking around I felt uncomfortable with how many people were in here. Especially with their eyes on us.

But I didn't say anything not wanting to be a bother.

He stared at me for a bit before he nodded.

He walked to the counter and raised a brow at me in question.

I shrugged not knowing what they had here.

He grabbed a menu and gave it to me. I looked it over quickly before pointing to a beacon and egg sandwich. "To drink?"

"Uhh apple juice." I said as it was the first thing to come to my head.

"What are you getting?" I asked.

"Nothing."

My eyebrows came together. "Why not?" He shrugged. "But you didn't eat lunch either."

He didn't respond as a waitress stopped in front of us. "W-what can I get you?" She asked nervously.

He ordered for me and I waited for him to continue but I frowned at him when I realized he wasn't.

"That's all?" He started to nod but I cut in.

"Sorry, umm, two of those please."

She glanced at me and back at him and he nodded confirming what I said.

"To go." He said and she walked away after that.

We sat on the stools to wait and not too long later she came back out with the food in a bag.

"That would be $19.23."

I reached into my pocket to grab some money but he beat me into giving her the money.

I tried to hand him it instead but he shook his head and grabbed the food.

I continued to insist he take the money but he wouldn't budge.

"Come on." He ignored my request to take the money, walking to the door and opening it.

I sighed and followed after him, putting my money away.

When we reached the building we entered and climbed up the long flight of stairs.

While I was slightly out of breath by the time we reached the top he looked unaffected.

I had to pause a few times, the building had about seven floors after all and no matter how many times I've climbed them I'm still not used to it.

He stopped with me, patiently waiting for me to continue.

"Sorry for pausing so much but your stamina is amazing. You have to hook me up with your workout routine."

When he smirked it had to be the hottest thing ever but it also made me realize what I said.

Why would you say that? I mentally scolded myself.

"Well-" he started.

"Nevermind." I cut him off causing a small laugh to escape him.

No I was wrong, that had to be the hottest thing ever.

It was short and low but that didn't take any beauty away from it.

I wanted to hear it longer but unfortunately he stopped too soon.

We walked to the side of the roof that was furthest from the door.

We sat down on the floor as there was nowhere else to sit and leaned against the short brick wall.

He handed me a small foam container and a bottle of juice.

I didn't realize how hungry I was until I opened the container and my stomach growled causing me to blush from embarrassment.

I don't remember the last time I ate as food has been the last thing on my mind for a while now.

I took a bite of it forgetting that I had to add salt and pepper to it as the eggs didn't have flavor.

After swallowing down the bite I looked in the bag and found a few small packets of salt and pepper.

Taking one of each I add it to the eggs.

When he remained unmoving and not eating I spoke up. "Are you not going to eat?" He shrugged. "You should." I told him.

A few moments later he was eating and I was glad.

It was silent as we ate and even after we finished we remained silent.

Turning to face him I decided to ask a question that has been sitting on me for a while now.

"Why were you here that night?" I asked, then spoke up again before he could answer. "Sorry it's just I've never seen you up here and I've spent most of my time up here since I found it."

"It's cool, you don't have to apologize." He responded but other than that didn't answer my question.

I didn't push it, not wanting to annoy him. If he didn't want to answer I wasn't going to force him.

I got mesmerized by the sight of the moon and didn't even notice I spoke until he looked at me.

"Look, the moon, it's so pretty." He turned to look in the direction I was looking and stared too.

"Sorry I have a weird obsession with the moon, don't mind me." I said with a small laugh.

He looked at me again, eyes locked with mine. We stared at each other for a while before he decided to speak up.

"No, you're right it is pretty."

I slowly nodded, not knowing what to say and gave him a small smile before averting my gaze.
