As the three began to walk out of the firm, Mercedes's phone vibrated.

As Mahoneys name appeared on her work phone, Mercedes said to the group, "Would you guys mind if I just?—"

"Oh, no problem take your time." Replied Foggy as the three paused for her.

Mercedes scanned the crowd and tried to find a place where she could take this call, as she looked over she found herself crawling into an alley.

As she walked in, Matt narrowed his head down to check out if everything was clear in the alleyway, though it was all fine— he still hyper-concentrated on her.

As the three waited Foggy pointed out the obvious, "I wonder if she's single.."

"Really Foggy" asked Karen as her head shook, "she could be talking to a professor, she is a student, remember?"

"—that could be her professor!" Said foggy with excitement as he glanced over to Karen, "a very very nice professor"

Under Matts glasses, his eyes rolled at the conversation. "gross Foggy—" said Karen.

"I agree with Karen." said Matt.

"I'm just saying, maybe she has some professor student thing going on. Hell, with all those professors in Colombia I wouldn't blame her, right Matt?"

Matt signed as his eyes continued to roll "I wouldn't know."

"ohhh so does Matthew Murdock have a thing for the student? maybe you guys can have a professor student thing."

"Foggy—" said Karen, "C'mon leave her and Matt alone."

"thank you Karen."

"See, he's not denying it!" said Foggy with a smile spreading from ear to ear, "well Matt, I wouldn't blame you. She is hot."

"like I said before, I wouldn't know."

"mhm, like Matt Murdock doesn't know when women is hot or not."

"you make it sound like a tv-show." said Karen, "she's nice, and if Matt likes her thats fine as well. She seems very sweet."

"thank you Karen," said Matt as his chin gestured to where her voice came from.

As Mercedes came back from the alley, Matt heard her heart slowly race as she said:

"I'm so sorry, but my friend from school needs some help with a presentation she has tomorrow... would it be fine if I took a rain check?"

"Oh no, of course!" Replied Foggy with a understanding tone, "Help her. But we'll definitely hold this on you."

Mercedes slightly smiled at the threesome as she then replied, "Thank you so much for understanding— all of you.. ah crap, I really wanted to go."

Karen said, "Of course. Thank you. Next time, promise."

Matt slightly smiled, as then Mercedes said, "Well, I guess I'm off. Again, Thank you for the interview it's definitely going to help"
