BLUE SPENT the past few days reading every single book she could find on Masons shelves. Without her guitar or journal she had nothing better to do.
"Wanna come play with me and Mason?" Vance asked, tossing a ball he had. "No thanks. Also, it's Mason and I." She corrected, not looking at him."Don't have to sound so rude about it." He replied, running outside. She looked up from her book and glared at him. Sadie walked in, sitting next to her.
"Hey girl." She smiled, taking a sip of her tea. "Hey Sadie. I have a question." Blue said, putting down her book and sitting up.
"Do you think Vance has been a little rude lately?" She asked. "Honest opinion. Yes." The blonde answered truthfully."It's like anytime I correct him about something there's a rude remark back." Blue ranted, taking a sip of her water. "I've noticed. But don't be so down about it. Boys are jerks. Well the ones I've met at least." She laughed.
Blue knew she was talking about Mason."It's just weird cause... he never used to be like this." She spoke truthfully. Anytime she corrected him he'd laugh. But that hadn't been the case.
"Hey guys." Baylen smiled, walking up to them. "Hey." They said back with a smile. "I'm gonna go outside with them. Just wanted to let you know." He winked before heading outside.
"Anyways, I don't know. It's just weird." Blue spoke, leaning back on the sofa. "Maybe he's scared." Sadie replied. "What do you mean?" The younger girl asked."Of losing you. He has. Twice actually. And he might be afraid of losing you again." She spoke, sipping on her tea. Blue didn't respond. She didn't know what to say.
"Well, thinking about, he lost you once because you got kidnapped and almost lost you because you got shot. So technically only once." The blonde rambled on but Blue wasn't listening.
Instead, she was thinking about all the possible outcomes of this situation. The girl still had not come to the realization she could possibly die again.
And it scared her to much to think about.As if on cue, the boys came running in. "People. Guns. Cars." Mason breathed out. "Shit. Shit. Shit." Blue mumbled, standing up immediately, thinking of what to do.
"We're not running." Vance said calmly as everyone scrambled around. "What do you mean we're not running?!" Mason yelled, picking up a switchblade."There is nowhere to run. We've gotta fight." He replied nonchalantly, going over to Blue. "Vance. No. I'm not fighting those... people." She said, trying to find words.
"Gorgeous, look at me." She snapped her head to him. "When was the last time you got into a fight?" She thought about. It had been a long time.
"You may be rusty but it's our only option." He said, putting his hands on her shoulders. "I don't know how to fight!" Baylen panicked, throwing his hands up."Vance is right." Blue whispered loud enough for everyone to hear her. They stopped in their tracks.
"There's nowhere to run. Even if we did, we'd got lost or shot at. This is our best option." Sadie looked at her with a small smile. The blonde trusted her."No. Nope. I can't." Baylen replied, still in panic. "Bro! Stop for a minute!" Mason yelled, grabbing the boy by his shoulders. "We don't have much time. Plus your sister won't let anything bad happen to you." He spoke fast.
Baylen huffed before nodding. "Let's do this."
~~~
"Blue Parker! We know you're in there!" A loud voice shouted. Blue looked at Vance from their hiding places. He gave her a nod once they heard the door slam open.
They hopped out, hitting a guy in the head with a pan before dropping it and hiding again. "We definitely know your here now!" The leader shouted.
