IT WAS finally winter break. Blue was so grateful. Vance and her talked about a lot of things and were good again. The two spent every moment they could with each other but surprisingly he hadn't even been to the new house.

Until today that is.

"Come on, Colby loves you!" Blue tried to convince Vance to just come over. "You sure about that?" He asked with a small, nervous laugh, hanging posters over the holes in his walls.
"I'm so sure." Blue replied with a small smile, sitting on his bed. He dropped his hands with a sigh.

"But what if he doesn't? Then I'll never be allowed to step foot back in your house." The girl just smiled. "That's why I have a window." He laughed a bit before sitting next to her.
"Plus he's not my dad." She added, resting her head on his shoulder. "Yet." She looked back at him. "Huh?" "Yet." She moved so she was facing him.

"Come on, Blue. He lives with you and based on what you've told me, he's gettin' pretty comfy with Mandy." He told her seriously.

"I know that." She quickly said, looking at the ground in embarrassment. "Do you?" The boy asked quietly. She just barely nodded. "Or you just afraid of having another father figure in your life?"

Blue didn't know the answer. She loved Colby dearly. He made her laugh, drove her anywhere she needed, gave her advice. He made her mom happy and that's what was most important to her.
But maybe she was afraid of having another father figure in her life. She hadn't seen her real father in quite some time which made her worry if he'd ever come back.

Blue didn't know what a good father was. All she knew was the ones with drinking problems who treated their family like shit.

She knew Colby would never but that's what she thought about Levi and he still ended up how he is. And that scared her more than words could describe.

"Um... I don't know." She answered, looking up at him. He moved the hair away from her face, lifting her head up. "It's okay." Vance knew she was scared about this new change and didn't force her to answer.
"But!" She immediately changed her mood, jumping up. "Let's go let you meet Colby." He sighed before smiling and getting up. "You know, for real this time."

The two walked to her house, stopping outside before they reached it. "Damn. When you said you got a new house I didn't expect this." He said, looking up at it.
"Neither did I." Blue replied, grabbing his hand and pulling him to the door. They walked in, Vance immediately feeling awkward. Especially because this was the first time in a long time since he had seen her 'family.'

"Vance!" Sadie shouted as they entered the kitchen. He smiled at her. "I've missed you so much!" She said, giving him a giant hug.
He returned it. Usually, he wouldn't but he didn't realize how much he had missed the blonde.

Blue smiled at them. Sadie pulled away with a large smile. "Nice hair." She said, ruffling his hair that was growing out again. He had a faint blush on his cheeks from embarrassment but he smiled non the less.
