EVERYONE SAT around the fire, listening to crickets chirp. Blue watched as the fire danced, it bringing back memories from when her and Vance were at his cabin.

Baylen sat next to her, roasting his marshmallow in the fire. Noah looked at them, leaning forward on his legs. Mason and Sadie were laughing about something. Vance was standing besides Blue.
Ali wasn't there. She said she needed to take care of something. "Yo, curly head kid." Noah spoke up, wiping his mouth with his hand.

Vance looked at him to signal he was ready for the question. "Tell me something about your adventures." He asked, remembering what Ali had told him a bit about.
"Okay um, I guess I'll tell you about a car chase." Vance shrugged. He told the story, Mason and Sadie listening in also.

"Wow." Noah replied once Vance was done. "I don't know who you are, but y'all are badass." He continued, sitting down on the log. Blue smiled, making a s'more.
Baylen looked at her and she looked at him, noticing the chocolate around his mouth. She laughed. "You got something." She said, pointing to her own mouth.

He wiped his mouth, eating his s'more again. "Blue, what about the fire?" Sadie asked. She obviously knew she was there but she wanted her to tell Noah.
"Oh, that. That was something." She responded, continuing to tell the story. "You should've killed him." Noah told her, biting into his s'more.

Blues smile dropped, looking down at the ground before back up. "I couldn't." She shrugged. Vance immediately noticed her tense, putting a hand on her shoulder. The girl looked up at him before turning to Baylen again.

They all enjoyed the silence, watching the flames dance in such a way that they didn't even think about the forest fire. Ali walked out with a smile.
Vance rolled his eyes, removing his hand and dropping his arms. "Good news for you two." The blonde said, looking at Blue and Baylen.

They looked at her, waiting for the news. "Mandy is okay." They sighed in relief, smiling. "How do you know?" Vance asked, ruining the mood with his tone. "I have my ways." There she was, almost spilling the secret she couldn't.

"It's okay. She's okay. My mother is okay." Blue repeated to herself, trying to let that reality hit. Baylen gave her a side hug. Vance was happy Mandy was okay but he wasn't happy about his mom keeping secrets.
Sadie noticed his change in behavior, making sure to keep an eye on him the rest of the night.

"You know, I'd really like to meet you're guys mother. She seems pretty cool." Mason spoke up, chewing his desert. "Cool? She's amazing." Baylen added.
"Well that just gives me another reason." Mason said again, grabbing Sadie's hand. "That sounds a bit weird dude." Noah laughed.

"What can I say, moms are hot." Sadie nudged him and Ali gave him a weird look. "Okay, I'll shut up now." He spoke, putting his lips into a line.
Vance snapped his head as he heard something on the outside property. He quickly tapped Blues shoulder. She looked at him as he was starting to freak out.
