BLUE IMMEDIATELY ran over to her brother, helping him stay up. Sadie, Vance, Noah, and Mason watched until Mason dropped his crutches and went over to the boy.

"Baylen, what happened?" Blue cried as they rested him on the ground. "It was... back when we were... trying to... rescue Vance." He choked out. "I didn't want... you worrying. Any of... you." Blue looked at Mason.
"Buddy, you should've told me earlier." He sighed out, ripping his shirt. "This is gonna hurt." He warned before applying pressure to his wound.

He groaned in pain, tears watering up. "Will he be okay?" Blue got out, trying to breathe. "Don't know kid." Mason breathed out.
Blue saw his eyes fluttering closed and she immediately started panicking again. "Baylen. Baylen. Baylen." She said over and over again. She felt a panic attack rising and her words were breathless.

Tears fell down face at the speed of lightning. "No. No. No. No. No." She kept repeating, breathing becoming harder every second.

Everyone watched, Sadie had also started crying. Noah and Vance felt emotions rise but tried to push them down for Blue.
"Wake up!" She screamed, shaking him. His eyes were fully closed now. Mason checked for pulse. There still was one.

"Wake up! Please!" The girl kept yelling, trying to get him to stay awake. As she kept doing that her voice kept breaking.
"Blue." He choked out one more time. "Baylen. Yes. I'm right here." She cried, holding his hand. "I can't feel anything." He hiccuped. "I don't wanna die." He kept repeating, tears falling down his extremely pale face.

"I know. I know. You're gonna be okay." She was really just telling herself that. "Here." He said, shakily pulling his favorite bracelet off his wrist. Blue grabbed it with her shaky hands before he grabbed them.
"I love you." With that, he took his very last breath, dying right then and there. "No. Wake up." She couldn't scream anymore, no matter how hard she tried to.

Mason formed his lips into a thin line, feeling for a pulse again. None. She tried screaming so many times but her voice had disappeared.

Her childhood best friend, the boy who was there for her when she had no one, the boy who helped her through every single thing life threw at her, was gone.

They heard the wailing of police sirens and ambulances but they didn't even pay attention. Mandy and Colby came back just in time.
The red head looked down, her heart sinking to her stomach. Vance sat next to Blue, letting his own tears fall. "He's gone." She said with what was left of her voice.

Vance's heart felt numb and well... Blue could feel her heart breaking into millions of pieces. Mandy started bawling, her sobs ripping through the rain.

The cops ran over, pulling them away from his body. Blue continued to cry once she was sat inside a police car. Baylen was placed into the ambulance though it be no use.
The drive back to Denver was just filled with sobs and sadness. Mason felt guilty for not being able to help him. There was nothing he could do but he still felt horrible.
