Jazlyn

JJ never followed me. I doubt he even looked a back. Tears stung my eyes as I kept walking, I didn't even know where I wanted to go but I kept walking anyway.

In the corner of my eye, I saw The Wreck. I thought about going in there for some food but then I remembered everything I had was in the van I walked away from.

I stared for a little longer until I saw somebody walk out the back door. The women had an apron on and a big crate. With a grunt she set down the case next to the garbage and walked back inside. Before anyone could sneak a peak, I quickly ran over to see if there was anything good.

There was at least four cases of untouched- cold beer. So, I took a couple and left. The case wasn't even expired, who'd let this go?

I made my way to a small spot of the beach and sat myself down. The blistering sun, and loud ocean sound almost made me forget everything that had just happened. But, I quickly remembered, taking another swig of the bottle.

JJ would always say, drink away the sadness.

I did exactly that.

After a while, the sun set and the chill of the darkness set in. Everyone that was at the beach had left and it was just me and a few other families cooking in front of their fire pit. My mind was all mushy but I let myself stand up and take the last case I had left and find my way home.
