twenty-four|Impatient

"What the hell?" Pope looked towards the sound of the generator.

Suddenly, the lights that surrounded Pope and Kie, flickered back on along with a the pop of a champagne bottle.

"Who the hell is that?" Kie muttered, walking towards the back of The Chateau, Pope following behind her.

Earlier that day, the group had separated after JJ and Jaz left, John B had dropped of Pope and Kie and then they had also went their own ways. But, soon enough, Kie and Pope were back at The Chateau.

When they walked back, the glowing lights and flowing hot tub made them stop in their tracks.

"What did you do, JJ?" Pope asked, looking at the boy who was sitting leisurely, surrounded by pink flamingos.

"I got a jet going straight in my butt right now." JJ chuckled. "Y'all should get in immediately, you hear me? Salud!" He smiled, pouring some champagne in a cup.

"How much did this cost?" Pope sighed.

"Uh... Well, with the generator, the petrol, and- oh express delivery...pretty much all of it. Yeah."

"All of it?"

"Yeah, all of it."

"You spent all of the money in one day? I- I mean, where's Jaz?"

"Man, I don't know." JJ ignored the sting in the back of his throat and the gloss the coated his eyes. "But, c'mon guys. Like, look at this! Finest in jet-based massage therapy. That's what they told me...Kie, what? Can't a man have a little luxury in life?"

Kie and Pope shared a concerning look. "Come on, all this scrimpin' and scrapin' I mean, like guys. We only live once, right? Enough of this emotion shit. Get in the Cat's Ass. Come on."

"In the what?" Kie asked, making sure she heard right.

"In the Cat's Ass." JJ confirmed. "That's what I named her. Oh, hey, yo, I almost forgot." He smiled, clicking another button, causing a disco light to shimmer around the whole backyard.

Pope and Kie looked around in shock while JJ just smiled and laughed, "That's right. Disco mode, baby!"

"Are you kidding me?" Pope snapped, "You could have paid for restitution!"

"Or literally given it to any charity!" Kie added.

"Or better yet, you could've helped us buy supplies to get the rest of the gold out of the well!"

"Okay, well, you know what? I didn't do that!" JJ shook his head as he stood up. Kie almost took a step backwards at the bruises that covered the boys body. Her heart stung, looking at it. "I got a hot tub! For my friends...I got a hot tub for my friends. You know what? No. Screw friends, I got a hot tub for my family- for my girlfriend!"

"JJ, what the hell?" Kie stepped back towards him.

"Guys, look what I did for you! All right? Look at this!"

"JJ." Kie shook.

"No, stop being emotional. It's fine,Okay?" He smiled as tears strolled down his face, "I mean, it's sweet, right? Everything-"

Before he could finish, Kie went up and hugged him.

As Jaz got closer to her house, she noticed the lights on in the backyard along with some screaming. She had figured her brother was home or something and went straight for the backyard. Though, she couldn't necessarily walk straight, but she made it anyway. She knew John would be happy to see her with some drinks too, so she quickened her pace.

When she really heard the voice in the back, she slowed down. What was JJ doing at her house?

Her breath got caught in her throat when she peered over the corner and saw Kiara and JJ hugging. She didn't even notice the new additions to the backyard or her other best friend watching the two of them. Just him and her. She didn't even know what he was saying but she could feel his hurt from how far she was.

He was hurting and that hurt her even more. She hurt him and it was all her fault.

Before she could think another thought, she grabbed her bike and threw the beer in the basket, riding away without a sound. She knew it probably wasn't the best idea to ride while having a whole case of beer in her system but she wasn't about to walk again that's  for sure.

sorry this took forever and that these last two chapters were super short I've been so busy with dance and we're going to state next week so it's been a handful! Updates are gonna start coming quicker after though. Yay
