Tom Riddle sat at his desk in the dimly-lit classroom, his quill poised above a piece of parchment. He had been studying for weeks, preparing for his second final exam in his fifth year at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. The exam was for Defense Against the Dark Arts, a subject he excelled in, and he was determined to ace it.
As he waited for the exam to begin, Tom looked around at his classmates. They were all nervously tapping their quills or fidgeting in their seats. Tom, however, was calm and collected. He had been preparing for this moment for months, and he knew that he was more than ready.
The door to the classroom creaked open, and Professor McGonagall entered. She looked stern as she made her way to the front of the room and began handing out the exam papers. Tom took his paper with a small nod of thanks and began reading through the questions.
The exam was challenging, but Tom found himself answering each question with ease. He had studied every possible scenario, from the Unforgivable Curses to the most powerful defensive spells. He knew exactly how to counter every dark spell he could imagine, and he had even come up with a few of his own.
As he worked his way through the exam, Tom began to feel a sense of pride welling up inside of him. He was confident that he would receive the top mark in the class, and perhaps even the entire school. He could feel his power growing with every correct answer, and he relished the feeling.
When he finished the exam, he stood up and walked confidently to the front of the classroom to hand it in to Professor McGonagall. She looked surprised at how quickly he had finished, but he simply smiled and said, "I was well-prepared, Professor."
As Tom left the classroom, he felt a sense of accomplishment wash over him. He had conquered yet another challenge, and he knew that he was destined for greatness. He would continue to study and master every aspect of magic, until he was the most powerful wizard of all time.
But as he walked down the corridor, he couldn't help but wonder if there was something more out there, something even greater than his current aspirations. He knew that he would continue to search for the answers, and he would stop at nothing to achieve his goals.
After Tom Riddle had handed in his exam and left the classroom, Professor McGonagall couldn't help but feel a sense of suspicion. She had never seen a student finish the Defense Against the Dark Arts exam so quickly, especially not one as talented as Tom Riddle.
She decided to follow him out of the classroom and catch him in the corridor. "Mr. Riddle, may I have a word with you?" she asked, her tone stern but curious.
Tom turned to face her, his expression calm and collected as always. "Of course, Professor. Is there something you need from me?"
"I couldn't help but notice that you finished your exam quite quickly," she said, eyeing him carefully. "Can you tell me how you managed to answer all of the questions in such a short amount of time?"
Tom smiled slyly. "I simply studied very hard, Professor. I knew the material well and was well-prepared for the exam."
Professor McGonagall raised an eyebrow, unconvinced. "It's just that I have never seen a student finish so quickly before, even one as talented as you. Are you sure there wasn't anything...unusual about the way you took the exam?"
Tom's smile grew wider. "I'm afraid I don't know what you mean, Professor. I simply answered the questions to the best of my ability and finished in a timely manner. Is there a problem with that?"
Professor McGonagall shook her head, knowing that she wouldn't get any more information from Tom Riddle. "No, Mr. Riddle, there's no problem. I just find it impressive, that's all. Keep up the good work."
Tom nodded politely and continued down the corridor, a small smirk on his lips. He knew that he had managed to fool Professor McGonagall once again, and he relished in the feeling of being in control. He had bigger plans for his future, and nothing would stand in his way.
