Voldemort returned to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, a place he had not set foot in since he had graduated decades ago. He had come to see the new Headmaster, Albus Dumbledore, with a very specific request.

Voldemort had spent years traveling the world, gathering knowledge and power, and had become one of the most feared and respected wizards of his time. He believed that he was now more than qualified to teach the students of Hogwarts, and he had come to ask for the position of Professor of Defence Against the Dark Arts.

As he walked through the halls of the school, Voldemort could feel the power and history that permeated every corner of the building. He passed by familiar classrooms and corridors, memories flooding back to him from his time as a student.

Finally, he arrived at Dumbledore's office, where he was greeted by the Headmaster himself. Dumbledore was a formidable wizard in his own right, and Voldemort knew that he would need to be careful in how he presented his request.

"Headmaster Dumbledore," Voldemort began, bowing slightly. "It is an honor to be back at Hogwarts. I have come to ask for a position as a professor here."

Dumbledore raised an eyebrow. "And what makes you think you are qualified for such a position, Lord Voldemort?"

"I have spent years studying the Dark Arts, and have a wealth of knowledge and experience to offer your students," Voldemort replied smoothly. "I have traveled the world, seeking out new spells and techniques, and I believe that I could be a valuable asset to your faculty."

Dumbledore considered Voldemort's request for a moment before responding. "While I appreciate your interest in teaching, Lord Voldemort, I must respectfully decline your request. The position of Defence Against the Dark Arts is a crucial one, and I cannot entrust it to someone with your...reputation."

Voldemort felt a flash of anger at Dumbledore's words, but he kept his cool. "I see," he said. "Well, I must say that I am disappointed, but I understand your position. Perhaps we will meet again under different circumstances."

With that, Voldemort turned and strode out of the room, his mind already working on his next move. He had been denied this opportunity, but he knew that there were other ways to achieve his goals. And so he left Hogwarts once again, more determined than ever to achieve his vision of a pure-blooded wizarding society.

Voldemort left Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, feeling frustrated and humiliated. He had hoped to secure the position of Professor of Defence Against the Dark Arts, but Dumbledore had rejected his request outright. As he traveled back to his stronghold, his mind was filled with thoughts of revenge.

Voldemort knew that Dumbledore was one of the greatest wizards of his time, and he realized that he would need to find a way to weaken his opponent if he was to have any chance of succeeding in his plans. He began to research ancient curses and dark magic, seeking out any spells that might give him an advantage over Dumbledore.

Eventually, he came across a powerful curse, one that would ensure that no teacher could hold the position of Defence Against the Dark Arts for more than a year. Voldemort knew that this curse would be the perfect weapon against Dumbledore, as it would prevent him from building a stable and effective defense against the dark forces that were gathering against him.

With his mind made up, Voldemort returned to Hogwarts School and cast the curse on the current Defence Against the Dark Arts teacher. The curse was powerful and irreversible, and it immediately took effect. The teacher, who had only just started the job, suddenly fell ill and had to resign from the position.

Word of the curse spread quickly, and soon it became known throughout the wizarding world that the position of Defence Against the Dark Arts was cursed. No teacher could hold the job for more than a year without falling ill, resigning, or even dying.

This curse had the intended effect, causing chaos and instability within the school. The students suffered, as they were constantly being taught by new and inexperienced teachers, and the staff struggled to maintain order. Dumbledore himself was forced to step in and teach the class on several occasions, taking valuable time away from his other duties.

Voldemort watched from afar, pleased with the chaos he had caused. He knew that this curse would make it even easier for him to infiltrate Hogwarts and to gain control of the school. And so he continued to work on his plans, confident that he was one step closer to achieving his ultimate goal of dominating the wizarding world.

Voldemort stood outside the gates of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, his eyes fixed on the castle that lay before him. He had come to the school with a specific purpose in mind, and as he looked up at the towering walls, he knew that he was facing one of the greatest wizards of all time.

He raised his wand, ready to cast a spell, but then something strange happened. A feeling of uncertainty washed over him, and he found that he was no longer sure of his plans. He hesitated for a moment, then lowered his wand and took a step back.

Suddenly, he began to scream at the top of his lungs. "Dumbledore!" he screamed out. "Good luck and success with your school! I hope that you will be able to keep it safe and secure for many years to come!"

Dumbledore, who was inside the castle, heard Voldemort's words and smiled to himself. He knew that Voldemort was a dangerous and unpredictable enemy, but he also knew that he had the power to defeat him. He watched as Voldemort turned and walked away, his mind racing with thoughts of his next move.

For a moment, Dumbledore felt a twinge of pity for the dark wizard. He knew that Voldemort had once been a student at Hogwarts, and he wondered if there was anything that he could have done differently to prevent him from turning to the dark side.

But then he pushed those thoughts aside and focused on the task at hand. He knew that there would be many challenges ahead, but he was determined to protect his students and to keep the school safe from harm.

And so, with a deep breath, he stepped forward and into the castle, ready to face whatever challenges lay ahead.

While his stay he also had hidden the diadem of Ravenclaw in the Room of Requirement.
