When food becomes your enemy, not your friend, And every meal feels like a battle you cannot win, When the mirror distorts your body, and your mind, And the thought of eating fills you with dread, unkind.
When you feel trapped, suffocated by your own thoughts, And the world feels too big to comprehend, too fraught, When every pound lost is a victory, no matter the cost, And the thought of recovery seems too much to exhaust.
That's when you know you're in the midst, Of anorexia nervosa, impossible to resist. The world becomes a trap you cannot escape, And the body becomes a burden you cannot reshape.
But know that you are not alone in this fight, And recovery is possible, with the right insight. Seek help, find comfort in those you trust, And know that healing is possible, with time and just.
Take it one day at a time, breathe deep, And don't let the fear of food seep, Through your mind, like poison in your veins, For you are still whole, despite what remains.
For in the end, your spirit will persist, And your heart will lead you where recovery insists. Brighter than before, with newfound resilience, And the power to overcome life's greatest exigences.
