Third-Person POV; 4:39 a.m
The first floor was a madhouse. Shouyou didn't expect much less.
He races through the screaming, panicked crowds helping direct people to the doors with Nishinoya standing at his side to help.
Shouyou briefly saw Daichi in the corridor past all the bystanders and shouted to Nishinoya that he was going over there. The long hall led him out a side door where a blast of crisp early-morning air cooled the sweat on his brows.
Daichi had pounded someone down just as Shouyou was able to run over. He was going to say something, but there were still people screaming, vehicles revving up, and guns going off. Worry tore at the pit of his stomach, hoping everyone would be safe. All the noise wasn't helping.
"Shouyou..?"
Daichi had noticed his commander's frozen form and reached a hand out to him, but Shouyou clutched his gun tight in his hand, went to the knocked-out body on the ground, and took the gun out of his hand so that he was now equipt with two.
If these people can't use their guns for good, then Shouyou will simply rid them of all of them.
He made his way back inside, where the crowds had passed and were now out by the fountain in front of the building, filtering into the cars.
"Shouyou~ Sakusa's looking for you~" Cooed Tendou, the cocking of his gun echoing in the near-empty ballroom.
Tendou didn't even blink before Shouyou had aimed and shot the gun right out of his hand. Half a second was all it took for Shouyou to take away over half of Tendou's power. How startling.
Tendou grinned, yet it hardly reached his dark eyes. He opened out his arms, almost daring Shouyou to shoot him as the ginger sauntered over. The determination in his eyes was startling.
But Shouyou walked past him and Tendou was left standing with shaking legs after being stared down so intensely. He looked behind him where Shouyou was long gone and smiled with trembling lips to himself.
"Sakusa-San, better say his prayers..."
-----
Shouyou knew he had to take these guys hostage. He has to get them behind bars, somewhere they can never harm another being again. How's he going to do it? Yuichi and Suzuki aren't due to bring the cuffs and cars until another hour from now. Their cover's been blown far too soon.
"Daichi," He spoke over his earpiece, "Find who you can and go pick up the cars. Get Suzuki and Yuichi here, too, just do it on the down low. If they come after you, I'll handle them."
Daichi replied, and so did a voice behind Shouyou.
"Are you sure you can take that on all by yourself?"
He turned around to lock eyes with Aran, then, the person beside him, Kita. They stood significantly taller than him, stronger, and more intimidating with their observing gazes.
Shouyou glanced them up and down with his calculating eyes and found no weapon, but he'd remain cautious because there's bound to be one somewhere on them.
"Why are you guys so adamant about following Sakusa? What makes him so special?"
"That's something you should ask him," Kita monotonously informed. Shouyou's nose scrunched, he's really tired of asking Sakusa stuff.
"You can't go beat us if you send off half your crew, Shouyou. Besides, you'd have to capture all of us, while we only need one person- you."
Just as Aran said that he cracked his knuckles. Shouyou saw Kita's hand shift in his pocket. It's too small to be a gun, it's gotta be a blade of sorts.
"I'll make this quick, don't worry."
Aran surged forward quickly, Shouyou hardly had time to dodge the powerful punch that most definitely would have knocked him out. One of the guns slipped out of his hand when he stumbled back and screeched to a halt too far away from him to be considered a reliable weapon anymore.
Again, Aran swung, and he was much quicker than Shouyou. His arm took the brunt force. Something definitely fractured.
Shouyou yelped in pain, and it was enough for Kita to call Aran off since the ginger was backed into a corner by stepping away from Aran. That moment of hesitation in Aran's fluid movements was enough for Shouyou to shakily hold his gun up with his pained forearm and shoot.
It wasn't exact, but the bullet did brush Aran's arm rather deeply, giving Shouyou enough time to slink back and pick up his other gun.
"Shouyou..! Agh, damn it! What's the point in fighting?! You're cornered!"
Aran was right, Shouyou's stuck between the wall and the glass windows beside him. It's still on the first floor, he can see his team members gathering outside in the driveway, and, beyond them, he can see a deadly pair of eyes staring at them from the other side of the driveway thanks to the dim glare of the rising sun.
If only he could break the glass...
Aran grabbed Shouyou by the arm and tried to yank the guns out of his small hands. Though he acted out of desperation to rid himself of the excessive pain Aran's tight grip caused, Shouyou's brain was also still thinking of ways to escape. Both these registered in Shouyou's head and, before he could even think, he twisted his hand to face the gun toward the window and shot it.
Aran let go out of the shock of the loud noise, and Shouyou jumped through, feeling the sting of cuts along his body from the glass. His teammates were already off with two cars hot on their tails.
Shouyou ran from Aran, Kita seemed to have stayed behind, and when Shouyou got on one of the motorcycles, the tall, strong male gave up and headed back toward Kita with a hand over the deep wound on his arm.
"Did you get him?" Kita fiddled absently with the blade in his hand.
Aran tried to smile, though it was hard since he was out of breath, and held a shaky thumbs up. He bent down after stepping back into the hall through the broken window and picked up the small thumb tack to hand back to Kita.
"'Course I did. I feel bad I had to bust his arm, though. Why didn't you just use the knife?"
Kita shut the pocket knife and opened his bag to put it back in its place.
"It was just a distraction. I'm surprised he got away from you, honestly."
"Well, you know, no one really wants to capture him other than Sakusa-San. When we do, the game's over, and that's just no fun."
They both headed deeper into the hall feeling somewhat accomplished. They'd have to find a first aid kit.
"You're starting to sound like those troublesome twins, Aran."
"Haha, very funny. How long's it take for that stuff to kick in, anyway? That stuff that was on the thumb tack, I mean."
"About half an hour, I'd say. If he keeps moving as much as he is, it'll work into his bloodstream faster, a good ten minutes faster."
They met with Atsumu at the cross between the halls, where he clutched tightly at his hand and grit his teeth. Whether it was from the pain of the hole in his hand or from his seething lust for vengeance was unknown. Aran and Kita weren't surprised.
"He got you too, huh?" Aran cooly spoke. Atsumu told him to shut up.
"Where's Sakusa-Kun?"
"He left a while ago with some of the others headin' to the station."
