Janessa would be lying if she said she wasn't looking forward to spending the summer in cousins. Since she moved in with her cousins, she has been going. Nessa was left with her aunt after her parents died. When Laurel arrived at the hospital, Nessa ran into her arms. She's lived with them since she was six years old. She even finds herself calling Laurel "mom" on occasion. Laurel always smiled when she did.

Laurel looks and acts a lot like Nessa's mother, and this helps Nessa fill the void left by her mother's absence. John always acted like a father towards her, but she appreciates him as much as she does Laurel.

"Nessa, we're leaving in 20 minutes!"  her cousin, Belly yelled.

Janessa huffed, frustrated, even though she was excited, she was kind of nervous. She will be with him since last summer.

Jeremiah Fisher is the boy she has been in love with since she met him. Which has been many years ago.

She wasn't sure what she felt until she was seven, and he consoled her when she was upset about her family. That brief interaction brought the two closer together. Even though she had a long-standing crush on him, no one knew. If her father taught her anything, it was how to hide her emotions. He always held a strong front. Acted like everything was okay when the car fell off the cliff. So she found it very easy to pretend that Jeremiah and she are just friends.

Everyone who didn't know them thought they were just an average couple because they flirted and were attached at the hip, but everyone who did know they were nothing more than best friends.

"Nessa!" Belly yelled, opening their bedroom door.

"Oh, you're awake, we are leaving, come one. Are you ready?" she asked her.

Nessa nodded, grabbing the suitcase off the bed and dragging it along behind her, "yeah, pretty please ask steven to come to get my bag."

Belly looked at her as if she was from a different planet. "We both know he won't help." belly laughed, causing Nessa to laugh too. "Not wrong." she answered back after laughing.

belly smiled at her cousin as she struggled to pull her large and heavy suitcase. belly laughed, helping Nessa in pulling it. " What is in here, rocks?"

Nessa giggled, "I totally did pack rocks, for when the boys make me mad" which caused belly to laugh.

"We think alike" belly laughed out.

"Girls!" Laurel yelled for the girls, "let's go!"

In the car were Laurel, Belly, Steven, and Nessa. Belly was singing at the top of her lungs in the back seat, while Steven sat in the driver's seat. Laurel sat in the passenger seat. Nessa was texting Jeremiah in the back; they text every day and are always on FaceTime.

The mom's always said that they were going to get married one day.

'I'm really excited to see you' Nessa read the text with a small smile pulling on her plump lips.
