“who are you” Sana said looking at Sid making him shock.
His heart started beating faster.

“Shehnaaz… I…” before he could say anything Sana interrupted him.

“Papa, Why I am I here? What happened to me. I am Shanaya were going to Mumbai then why I am here?” She said making them shocked.

“uff my head is aching too much” Sana said while Sukh ji looked at doctor.

“Ms. Shehnaaz you are absolutely fine, you just had a small accident” Doctor said

“what accident? How…. And where is Shanaya? Is she fine? Papa Shanaya” Sana said panicking.

“calm down Miss Shehnaaz, Shanaya is fine. Now you tell me what is today’s date” Doctor said making Sana frown, she squinted her eyes at him “ I just met an accident and you are asking me today’s date” she said with annoyed expression “well it’s 10th January 2022” she replied making others shock as it was 10th April 2022.
Sukh ji and Pammi ji looked at each other and then at the doctor.
“So, Ms. Shehnaaz, do you remember what happened before your accident?” doctor asked.

“yes, I and Shanaya were going to Mumbai for completing our last semester of graduation but I don’t know how I reached here” She said with a pout.

“no problem, it’s just that your head got wounded during accident and you are not able to remember certain things, you I suggest you to take rest” he said and then looked at her parents gesturing them to come out with him.

All this while Sid was standing there like a statue, sukh ji placed his palm on his shoulder and gestured him to come out, Sid looked at Sana who was giving him curious look. He was about to turn when Sana stopped him.

“Wait…. I think I have seen you somewhere” Sana said placing her finger on her chin while Sid heart started beating faster.
“yes…. I know you” she said making others smile.

“you were the one who helped in mall” Sana said like a excited kid but Sid’s heart churned.

Seeing this Sukh ji took Sid out with him.

“Doctor, what has happed to my child? Why is she behaving like this?” Pammi ji said wiping her tears.

“partial amnesia… or in simple words you can say she is suffering from short term memory loss”  doctor said and this was enough to shatter them.

Sid’s pov
“am I hearing it right? Sanu…. She isn’t able to recognize me. She has forgotten all our memories; she doesn’t remember me….no no no…. this can’t be possible…. What will I do? How will I live without her…? No this can’t happen…I want my Shehnaaz. What if she never remembers me?” all these thoughts were suffocating me; I was feeling nauseous. I was unable to breathe and slowly I fell into oblivion.
I could hear someone calling my name but the voice is not clear. My head was feeling heavy. I felt a on my shoulder and with lot of efforts I opened my eyes and saw Sukh uncle staring at me with concerned look.
“are you okay Sid?” he asked and I around to realize that I lying on hospital’s bench.

I don’t know when I slept here. I tried to recall and last night events started flashing in front of my eyes.
“Shehnaaz”

“she is sleeping. She is fine now and we can take her home within a day or two” Sukh ji said while I nodded.

Sleep is far better than reality, In my dreams I saw my Sanu and she was talking about while I was listening her as usual. We looked happy and content. But now the reality is completely different. My Sanu doesn’t remember me and this thought was enough to feel a stinging pain in my heart.

“Sid” Sukh ji said bringing me out from my reverie.

“I know you are really attached to Sanu and this thing has affected you badly but trust me Sid everything is gonna be fine soon. Doctor has said that it is a temporary memory loss and she will recover soon” He said placing his hand on my shoulder while I just nodded. No sweet and kind words can lessen my pain now.

Sukh ji went to look for Pammi ji while I was still sitting on the bench like a statue.
After a minute, I again felt a touch on my shoulder and this I looked up to find Shanaya standing there. Despite of being sad or concerned, she looked happy.

“why are sitting like a ‘devdas’ whose Paro has left him” She said. Even In this serious situation she is talking like a psycho, I felt a extreme anger towards her because she looked non affected while Sanu was so concerned about her.

“here, you are showing your stupid smile while Shehnaaz was so concerned about you” I said gritting my teeth.

Her expression changed from confused to sad to mischievous within seconds.

“hey, I love my friend and she is perfectly fine now. go and see she is fighting for her chocolate” She said showing her stupid grin again.

“yea… right she is fine and Why will you be affected? She remembers you. The only one she has forgotten about is me” I said with a bitter smile.

“and you are about it? Like seriously?” she gave me a duh look my anger was rising.

“stupid, you should be happy that she doesn’t remembers you. It’s a good chance” She said again giving her silly grin.

“what chance?” spatted

“dumbo…. It’s a chance for you make her fall in love with you again. You got the chance to recreate your moments, you will a interesting story to tell to your grandchildren” She said and this time I looked at her and wanted her to continue, as getting my sign she started again.

“look… it’s all like a fantasy… like a fairytale, like a movie where heroine has a memory loss and hero does everything to win her love again.” She said and for the time in In last 12 hours I can see some hope.
“yes she is right, so what if she has forgotten our moments, I will create new moments and memories with her. I will win her love again but….”

“what if she doesn’t fall for me and fall for someone else” I asked the question which was bothering me.

Shanaya rolled her eyes “no chance…. Sanu got many proposal but she was never interested in anyone but the moment she saw you she went crazy about you, even after the way you behaved with her she still fell for you. You know why?” she said while I asked why

“because hers and yours heart are connected, even if she doesn’t remember you, her heart will recognize you. You just need to do some efforts, earlier it was Sana who fought for sake of love. Now, it’s your turn.” She said

Her words was enough to make me determined. I looked at her and smiled, she and Sanu are same, they always see the bright side of the story.
I hugged her taking her by surprise
“thanks Shanaya for giving me hope” I said

“don’t get senti….you have so much work do to. Infact your works starts now” she said

“work… what do I have to do?” I asked

“see… I you want sanu then you have to follow my plans. Your follow me and get Sana. So here is the deal” she said giving her hand for handshake which I took happily.
