I stared at him confused. What did he mean he was here to retrieve me? Why would I need someone to even retrieve me in the first place? Before I could even ask any questions, the bell rang, and Rick immediately walked over to me. Rick's eyes landed on my baffled face, and he looked angry.
"April, you don't mind waiting for me, do you? We do have the next period together and I was going to walk you again." He said kindly even though I could see the anger in his eyes.
He never once looked away from the kid and I blinked in confusion, before standing and complying. I don't even really remember what we are learning, and the teacher seemed to not even notice me, Rick, or the other kid. The teacher just sat at his desk grading papers.
Standing by the window was boring since I had nothing really to do, but watch other students walk to class. Glancing back at Rick and the other kid, I realized they were arguing about something. Fortunately, I left out the small important detail of my sensitive hearing. The whole reason I keep my ears covered by my hair is to be able to tone people out.
Moving my hair away from my left ear, I stood at the window listening in on their argument without either of them knowing.
"How many times must I tell you Peter, when we are outside the safe places, you can't talk to the people we are supposed to retrieve like that! You never know if one of them are watching her or anyone else from their shadows! What do you think would happen if the council found out we let another one of them fall into their hands again? Do you think they'd slap your wrist again and forgive you? No, they wouldn't even allow you outside of the town ever again!" Rick whispered furiously.
"I'm sorry, Rick. I just assumed that she needed to know that she was in danger and that her guardians had to leave thanks to one of them finding out where she was...I thought she should know about who is hunting her down." The other kid named Peter said.
I immediately covered my left ear again and quickly walked out of the classroom. They were both insane! They lied to me, and I believed their cruel lies just like that kid back at my old school! Anger seemed to boil my blood and half way down the hall it began to get harder to breathe. My body was shaking and I couldn't even figure out why. All I knew was I was pissed and their lies fueled my anger.

"April, calm down." Someone whispered to me.
I could feel hands wrapped around me as if someone was trying to restrain me from harming someone and my anger spiked at the sound of Rick's voice. I immediately began to wiggle trying to break free and get a good punch in, but whoever was holding me back was strong. I barely had any wiggle room to even attempt my escape.
"Calm down right now, April." Peter's voice whispered in my ear.
Both the liars were here. Lovely. My anger kept raging up and I continued to wiggle trying to break the hold of whoever was holding me.
"That's it." Peter grumbled as the person holding me suddenly lifted me into the air.
I couldn't see anything. My vision was clouded by my anger and most of my other senses were clouded as well. As soon as my feet were off the ground, I began to kick my legs and felt my foot collide against someone's jaw.
"Are you okay?" Peter asked whoever I kicked.
"Yeah. I've had worse..." Rick muttered.
"Let go of me!" I shouted at them.
"Are you calm?" Rick asked.
"How the heck should I be calm when I can't even begin to voice my anger?" I snapped.
