I stepped away from him as I saw a man with broad shoulders, white skin, and bushy eyebrows approaching us.
Is he that idiotic kinn?
"Congratulations both of you," He spoke out as he side-hugged Vegas, they gave a fake smile to each other.
"Oh, Your husband is beautiful," I heard him mumbling to Vegas, and he showed him a slight smirk to Kinn and then they both laughed.
I'm surrounded by a bunch of Idiots.
"Anyways, have a good future and a memorable first night," Kinn mumbled the last part to Vegas, and for some reason I quickly looked away, pretending I didn't hear the bullshit they were talking about.
"I will be back after some time," I whispered to Vegas, But, guess what this deaf guy doesn't hear anything. But, he instantly tilted his neck and gave attention to me as I repeated my words near his ear and unknowingly I placed my hand on his shoulder as I said them.
He nodded wordlessly before the sound of music filled the room.
I walked towards the garden area where many couples were dancing the stunning melody was playing and the lights were dim. The atmosphere felt light, I sat on a random seat admiring the view.
"Hey, don't make this sad face" A younger cousin of mine mumbled in a mocking tone sitting beside me.
"Stop fucking with me, just go eat something," I said.
"C'mon Pete, smile," He mocked me again and then, laughed the next moment.
"Fuck off, if you want a bullet in your head, leave," I threatened, before he stood up and showed me his tongue and then, ran away the next moment.
"Hey," A voice greeted me from behind I looked at Macau, Vegas's sweet and sane little brother.
"Do you want anything?" I asked him he shook his head before pointing to me toward his brother whose gaze was on me. Our eyes got locked for a moment before Macau said.
"He asked if you want to dance with him?" Macau declared.
Is he is same fucking monster that I have heard of? Is that same terrifying man asking me to dance with him?
"No, I'm not feeling well," I confirmed. Macau left and told something to his brother.
Why everyone is behaving like this is a normal marriage when it is not?
After some time, I made my way back to the other, Vegas's intense gaze immediately found me in the crowd. The atmosphere was electric, with guests reveling in the celebration. Laughter filled the air, and the clinking of glasses echoed around us. Some adventurous souls had even taken a plunge into the pool, their clothes clinging to their bodies.
"How are you feeling now?"
"fine," I replied, my voice barely a whisper amidst the lively ambiance. There was no time for further discussion as the cook rolled into a magnificent table adorned with our wedding cake. It stood tall and proud, boasting six tiers of pure elegance. Delicate peach flowers adorned its surface, adding a touch of romance to the already enchanting scene.
With a deep breath, I picked up the knife, our hands entwined, and delicately sliced into the cake. The room erupted with joyous cheers and the chant of 'kiss, kiss,'.
Both of us looked at each other, for a moment before I instantly looked away but the chanting was still heard in the room. So I uneventfully had to look at him, We both faced each other before I felt a hand on my back, and I almost jumped at the contact. Our eyes locked, and he leaned in, Our lips met, and his mouth tasted like red wine.
After that intense kiss, we indulged in the delectable sweetness of the cake. But despite its deliciousness, a bitter aftertaste lingered in my mouth. I took a big bite, hoping to wash away the taste of his mouth

"You should get an Oscar for your acting," Isabella mumbled when we both were sitting at the table."I'm really scared," I mumbled back.
"We both know, you were not," Isabella muttered and I agreed with her. She shifted in her seat as we saw Anderson coming our way.
"You did good," He said with a smile on and I stood up.
"I'm sorry for this, I know you deserve your father's legacy but our enemies will not let you live. Trust me, I don't doubt you, I just don't trust others, They can take advantage of you, and I genuinely care for you, I have lost my two sons already, and I don't want another heir of us to die," He whispered, His eyes glistening with tears.
"They are waiting," Isabella spoke up, I saw from the corner of my eyes Vegas was standing at the doorway, talking with his father.
"Hm, I'm leaving, and I promise I'll not return until I get to know the truth of father's death," I whispered in Isabella's ear inaudible to others.
I stand beside Vegas, as all of his family wishes us. Young men patted his back as he was going to some war tonight and some made inappropriate jokes about 'the first-night thing'.
"Let's go to our room," Vegas whispered and without having any choice I followed him to his room.
