My frustration bubbled up, and I couldn't help but snap back, "I'm not a prisoner."

But Vegas didn't lose his cool. Instead, a flicker of amusement danced in his eyes as he observed me. It was a side of him I hadn't seen before, and it both intrigued and infuriated me.

"Who are you trying to order around?" I blurted out, my voice tinged with defiance. I understood his intentions, his desire to keep me safe, but I couldn't help but challenge his authority.

To my surprise, Vegas didn't explode in anger like I anticipated. Instead, he simply watched me, his gaze filled with a mix of amusement and something deeper, something that I can't define.

In a moment of frustration, I let my anger get the best of me and kicked the nearby table. Regret washed over me immediately, realizing the futility of my actions.

Fuck my life indeed.

"Stop acting like a stubborn kid," he muttered, his voice filled with frustration.

"You're no one to order me around, and I'll sleep wherever I want," I retorted defiantly.

"What did you just say?" Vegas's voice grew sharper, his eyes narrowing.

"Can't you hear me? I'll do whatever I want," I snapped back, my frustration matching his.

Before I could even react, Vegas forcefully pushed me onto the couch, his movements swift and assertive. In an instant, he was on top of me, our bodies pressed together. I expected to see anger in his eyes, but to my surprise, I saw something else.

As we locked eyes, a tense silence filled the room. I waited for him to say something, to make a move, but he simply continued to stare at me, his gaze intense.

"Stop staring at me like that, it's creepy," I finally broke the silence, trying to regain some control.

"I'm not staring, I'm admiring," Vegas replied, his voice dropping to a low, husky whisper. "And what you were saying earlier, say that again."

My heart raced as his words hung in the air. Was he trying to seduce me? The realization hit me hard.

"Get off me," I managed to grit out, feeling something hard pressing against me. And I knew all too well that it wasn't a gun.

"Get away from me," I nearly shouted, my voice filled with a mix of fear and desire.

Vegas's eyes locked onto mine, his gaze piercing through my soul. There was a dangerous allure in his every move, a magnetic pull that I couldn't resist. His lips curled into a sly smile, revealing a hint of his manipulative nature.

"Are you scared of intimacy? Is that the type you are?" Vegas asked, his voice dripping with seductive confidence as he looked me up and down.

"What do you mean, what type?" I managed to ask, my voice barely audible.

"The type that's afraid of surrendering to a man's touch. Are you scared of the power I hold?" Vegas whispered.

"No, why would I be scared of you? Look, Khun Wegath, maybe you're the scariest person around, but I'm not even a little bit scared of you," I confidently declared, locking eyes with him, though my attention couldn't help but wander to the hard sensation I felt.

"Prove it," he muttered, abruptly standing up and extending a hand to help me up from the couch.

"Prove that you're not a scaredy-cat," he challenged, casually shrugging his shoulders as I stood behind him, perplexed.

"How?" I asked, genuinely curious.

"By kissing me," he proposed.

"What the heck?" I exclaimed, taken aback. Didn't he despise me? Why on earth would he want me to kiss him?

"Didn't you say you're not scared of me? Prove it by kissing me," he insisted.

I didn't want to kiss him, but...

Screw it.

Taking a deep breath, I cautiously closed the distance between us until only a few inches were separating us. His eyes remained fixed on me, unmoving. My lips grazed his chin and then brushed against his lower lip. I cringed, not just because I was attempting to kiss a man I loathed, but also because I knew he was doing all of this just to get under my skin.

As he stiffened against me, his grip on my chin tightened, pulling me closer. Our lips collided in a scorching, wet kiss that set my entire body on fire. It was like a primal force took over, and even though my mind was telling me to push him away, my body was craving more.

I was stunned by my body's response as I opened my mouth, allowing him to deepen the kiss. But Vegas didn't hold back. He took control and escalated the passion to a whole new level. His hands firmly gripped my hips, and with a few swift steps, he pushed me onto the bed.
