Sometimes A Hug Is The Best Medicine

Goku peeked around the corner at his silent mate, who'd (concerningly) not said a word all day. Goku was even more surprised and terrified as not even the link was used. Well it was but only the thoughts Vegeta was willing to share with him. Besides that, Vegeta was totally cut off.

Now, as he did the majority of today, Vegeta was sat on one of the loveseat cushions. He had one leg crossed over the other, one of his hands holding his head, and the other hand resting under his cheek as he chewed his pinky finger in deep thought.

Goku inhaled sharply, before addressing the possible issue.

"Hey," he said softly, grabbing the other's attention, "you okay?"

Vegeta stared at him blankly, his resting bitch face making seem angrier than he was. But Goku could see past that, he could see regret, guilt..

Fear.

Again he wasn't answered verbally, Vegeta simply nodded.

Goku made a face of disbelief, "you don't look okay." He watched as Vegeta lowered his vision to the floor, continuing to naw on his finger .

"Please don't do that." He begged gently.

When Vegeta briefly halted before continuing, this time breaking skin, he demanded more firmly. "Don't do that." He snatched Vegeta's hand away from his face. He sighed before kissing the back of it softly.

"Talk to me, Geta. Please? You're never like this, and all I want to do is help you." Goku dropped to his knees in front of Vegeta, only to see him nearly in tears. "Everything's gonna be okay, I promise. I promise I won't judge you, you'll always be safe with me, just talk to me, baby. Tell me what you need and it's yours." He wiped away Vegeta's stray tears with his thumb, staying quiet as he saw the Prince's lips trembling as if he wanted to speak.

"C.. Can I-..?" Vegeta whimpered brokenly as he tried his best to hold his tears. He took a shaky breath before making eye contact with the younger saiyan, "Can I.. have a hug..?"

Goku exhaled out of his nose with a soft smile, he quickly brought the older saiyan into a hug. At first, there was no response beside a jolt in shock, but then Vegeta slowly placed his hands on Goku's back. He closed his eyes and smiled for the first time in a while.

'Thank you.'
