Chapter Five - Investigation

As the rest of Class 001 partook in the Jedi Training Studies, Katooni makes her way to the office of Jedi Master K'Kruhk. When she arrived, Katooni was greeted by Master K'Kruhk. 

K'Kruhk: Initiate Katooni. 

Upon being greeted by K'Kruhk, Katooni was initially intimidated by the hulking Jedi Master. After a moment, Katooni regains her composure. 

Katooni: T...thank you for taking me under your wing, Master K'Kruhk. 

K'Kruhk: The honor is all mine, young Katooni. Your performance at the Sports Festival was a sight to behold. 

Katooni was taken aback by K'Kruhk's praise. Despite her impressive performance at the Sports Festival, Katooni felt that she could have done more. Katooni then nods her head to the Jedi Master, leaving her at a loss for words.

K'Kruhk: I see you have your gear ready. Good. We have an assignment. 

Katooni: What kind of assignment?

K'Kruhk: The Jedi Order has been working with the Hero Association with the search for the individual known as the Hero Killer. Our search has so far yielded....less than desirable results. 

With that, Katooni and K'Kruhk set out on their assignment to find and capture the Hero Killer. When they arrived at Hosu City, K'Kruhk and Katooni were greeted by Jedi Master Tholme and Petro. 

Tholme: Master K'Kruhk.

K'Kruhk: Master Tholme. Have you uncovered anything regarding the Hero Killer?

Tholme: The Hero Killer was last seen in this city. I've yet to pick up a trail. Endeavor and his agency have arrived to assist in the investigation. 

K'Kruhk: Then we must move quickly to find the Hero Killer before he attacks another. 

With that, K'Kruhk and Tholme took Katooni and Petro as they began their search for the Hero Killer. As they began their search, Katooni spoke to Petro. 

Katooni: How's your internship with Master Tholme?

Petro: Master Tholme is really something else, Katooni! We busted a drug deal not too long ago!

Katooni: That sounds exciting, Petro. 

Petro: What about you, Katooni? How's Master K'Kruhk?

Katooni: I've only just begun studying under him. But I am looking forward to learning from him. 

Petro: Before we set out on patrol, Master Tholme asked me all sorts of questions about the USJ Attack and the Sith. 

Katooni: And what did you tell him? 

Petro: I told him the same thing we told the other masters. 

Upon hearing this, Katooni was curious about Tholme's interest in the USJ Attack. K'Kruhk never asked her about the events that occurred to the USJ Attack. During the course of their investigation, they uncovered little to no traces or clues that could lead them to the Hero Killer. Soon enough, K'Kruhk and Tholme speak to Katooni and Petro. 

K'Kruhk: Katooni, Master Tholme and I will scout the city's alleyways. You and Petro will patrol the north end of the city. 

Katooni: Understood, Master K'Kruhk.

Petro: You can count on us!

Tholme: If you should encounter the Hero Killer, do not engage. Report to us immediately. 

With that, Katooni and Petro began making their way to the north end of Hosu City. As they began their search, Katooni and Petro spoke. 

Petro: So this Hero Killer sounds like bad news. 

Katooni: I heard that he crippled Iida's older brother. The Pro Hero Ingenium. 

Petro: Damn.

Katooni: I...I hope he's doing alright. I can't even imagine what he's going through. 

Petro: The sooner we take down the Hero Killer, the better. 

As Katooni and Petro began patrolling the north end of Hosu City, Katooni began to feel a great disturbance in the Force. She could feel a great darkness nearby. She became lightheaded and leaned against a wall. Petro notices this and tends to her. 

Petro: Hey. Are you okay?

Katooni: I...I'm okay. 

Petro: Are you sure? You look like you've seen a ghost.

Katooni took a moment to collect her thoughts. After taking several deep breaths, Katooni stood up.

Katooni: I'll be fine. 

With that, Katooni and Petro continued their search for clues leading to the Hero Killer. As they conducted their patrol, they heard the sound of fighting coming from an alleyway.

Petro: You hear that? 

Katooni: Sounds like it's coming from that alleyway.

Without hesitation, Katooni and Petro made their way to the alleyway where an unknown assailant armed with multiple swords stood over Iida who was lying on the ground. Laying against a wall was a wounded Pro Hero.

Iida: I'll.....I'll end your reign of terror! I'll stop you!

Stain then points to the wounded Native.

Stain: Save him first. Forget about yourself for a second and try saving others. Don't wield your power for your own sake. Because getting trapped by your own hate and acting out of pure self-interest...makes you the furthest thing from a hero. The furthest thing from a True Hero. By acting out of selfish reasons, you're no better than the Villains you claim to fight. You are weak. You are unworthy of the name Hero. You are a disease that must be purged. You are an offering for a just world. 

As Stain stood over Iida, Katooni and Petro contemplated their next move. 

Katooni: That's....that's the Hero Killer!

Petro: Yeah...and it looks like Iida's in a bad way. He needs our help. 

Katooni: Should we report to the Masters?

Petro: Iida doesn't have much time. He needs our help now. 

Back in the alleyway, Stain raised his sword to Iida, ready to kill him. Iida closes his eyes as he waits for the end. Just when it seemed like it was all over, Katooni and Petro jumped in front of Stain and Force Pushed him away. As they drew their Lightsabers, Midoriya and Todoroki appeared. In that moment, a confrontation with a Hero Killer was at hand.
