After completing the First Test, all the Jedi Initiates were separated by class and taken to what appeared to be a cave. As the Initiates of Class 001 waited near what appeared to be sealed doors, the voice of Cin Drallig was hear.
Cin Drallig(Intercom): Initiates. You have passed your first trial. Now you must face the second trial. In this trial, your connection to the Force will be tested in mind and spirit. Remember, a Jedi's greatest ally is the Force. Good luck and my the Force be with you.
With that, the Second Test had begun. When they tried to open the door, they found themselves unable to do so.
Petro: Hey what gives?!
Gungi: <There must be some way to open the door!>
As Petro and Gungi tried to force the door open, Katooni walks up to the door and gets on her knees. The rest of Class 001 were confused by this.
Ganodi: Um....what are you doing?
Katooni: You heard what Master Drallig said. A Jedi's greatest ally is the Force.
Following Katooni's lead, the rest of Class 001 knelt down and began meditating on the Force. Soon enough, the door began to shake before opening. Once the door was opened, the Initiates of Class 001 began walking through the narrow corridors. Eventually, they came across a blind old woman wearing Jedi Robes.
Old Woman: I knew you would come. It was only a matter of time.
Katooni: Who are you?
Old Woman: I was known by many names. You may call me Kreia.
Petro: Why are you here?
Kreia: I am here to guide all Initiates on their trials. You have endured much to have made it this far. I can feel your fear and uncertainties.
Zatt: Will you let us pass?
Kreia was silent for a moment. Kreia's silence deeply concerned the Jedi Initiates. She had a different aura compared to other Jedi Masters. Soon enough, Kreia spoke.
Kreia: To pass the trials, you must make a great sacrifice.
Ganodi: What kind of sacrifice?
Kreia: One of you must die.
Upon hearing this, Class 001 were shocked beyond words. Kreia however showed no emotion.
Gungi: <One of us has to die?! That's not right!>
Kreia: Sacrifices like these are what built our order. Sacrifice the weakest among you to grow stronger. Sacrifice the strongest to inherit their power. Who you chose to sacrifice is up to you. The choice is yours.
As Kreia laid out the task, the Jedi Initiates of Class 001 looked at one another, not sure what to do.
Byph: This is crazy! We....we can't make this call!
Gungi: <But if what Kreia says is true, then we don't finish the trials!>
As Class 001 began to break down, Katooni approached Kreia.
Katooni: What if we refuse to make the sacrifice?
Kreia: Then you will all die. If one cannot make a sacrifice, then they are unworthy of becoming Jedi. The Force is like a cloud, a mist that drifts from living creature to creature, set in motion by currents and eddies. It is the eye of the storm, the passions of all living things turned into energy, into a chorus. It is the rising swell at the end of life, the promise of new territories and new blood, the call of new mysteries in the dark.
Katooni looked upon her fellow classmates as they tried to ponder what to do next.
Ganodi: What are we going to do?! We can't just kill off one of us! That...that isn't right!
Petro: Calm down, Ganodi! No one is sacrificing anyone! The old woman is full of crap!
Byph: But what if what she's saying is true?! We might die in here!
Zatt: Seems like an unwinnable situation.
Ganodi: Zatt! Don't tell me you're agreeing with this!
Zatt: I'm not saying that at all Ganodi. I'm just saying that we're in a real bad situation. If we end up....sacrificing one of us, then we might as well no longer be Jedi. If we refuse, then we could very well die here.
Kreia: From such small things, from such critical points, the universe and its masses may be moved...that is why you must be careful in all that you do, and in every choice you make.
As Kreia said this, Katooni pondered Kreia's words.
Katooni: I...I can't allow anyone of you to be sacrificed. I won't sacrifice you nor will I ask any of you to be sacrificed!
One by one, the rest of Class 001 rallied behind Katooni's decision. They all refused to sacrifice one of their own.
Kreia: Have you made your choice?
Katooni: Yes. We will not sacrifice one of our own.
Kreia: Did you not hear my warning? By refusing to make this sacrifice, you prove yourselves unworthy of the Force. If you seek to aid everyone that suffers in the Galaxy, you will only weaken yourself...and weaken them. It is the internal struggles, when fought and won on their own, that yield the strongest rewards. Instead, you simply did not learn the lesson I sought to teach. That your strength is as meaningless as the strength of my hand.
Petro: We'll take our chances. Just so you know, we won't go down so easily!
Katooni: A Jedi's greatest ally is the Force.
As the Jedi gave their answer, Kreia chuckled.
Kreia: Perhaps you were expecting some surprise, for me to reveal a secret that had eluded you, something that would change your perspective of events, shatter you to your core. There is no great revelation, no great secret. There is only you. There is only the Force. Your faith in one another remains strong. Even in the face of death, you still stand by each other. The Force is strong with you indeed.
With that, the form of Kreia vanished and a door on the other side of the room opened. They walked through the exit, ready for the Final Test.
