Mackenzie's Time To Shine

last week was sore and this week is just gonna be boring and i'm still in a boot and i have to show up for rehearsals even though i won't be in any dances.

we arrive at the studio and mom helps me out of the car

we go into the dancers den

"hi bffs what's up." Kalani says as she comes in with Kira

"it was so weird last night without Maddie." Kendall says

"aww i know" Jill agrees

"excuse me..i wasn't there either." i huff

"and you too Kayla" Kendall smiles

"Maddie is meeting us in LA so" mom says

"that's too long" Nia says

"guys but it's great because i get mines and Maddies bedroom all to myself." i say

"hmm never know might sneak into Maddies bed one night." Kenzie says

"Maddie will crucify you." i say

"mom is so sad that she can't be in New York with Maddie." Kenzie says

"i know god forbid mom having to be here for her ten year old daughter and her other daughter who has a sprained foot" i dramatise

mom laughs

Gia comes in and calls us in for pyramid

"yay" i say and i plop down on the floor

"this is our last week before we go to LA" Abby says

we all clap

"Maddie is not here she is in New York City rehearsing for Saturday Night Live all you moms be thrilled i chose your children this week over being at Saturday Night Live" Abby says

"congratulations a clean sweep!"

we all cheer

"our duets we had a third place overall a second place overall, first place overall..i mean thats win place and show we got them all there, the group routine you all did well the group dance won not only did you beat Cathy but they were third so they tried to do too contemporary too initiative to weird and it backfired who puts their hands down in a side aerial when you are thirteen-fourteen years old?"

"horrible" Jess says

"both hands" mom says

"alright i'm gonna get to the pyramid we're going to do pyramid a little bit like a chorus line..alright Kayla, Kendall and JoJo come up here together..well only Kendall and JoJo go ahead and take that..give that to Kayla" Abby says too Kendall
Kendall comes over and hands me my headshot

"you are obviously on the bottom of the pyramid Kayla you are injured you didn't dance and you two were third you did a duet you let Mackenzie and Nia beat you" Abby says

"since we are talking about you two why don't you come on up..Nia and Mackenzie come on together..i did feel like Mackenzies dancing is very juvenile now she was playing a child i just mean her arabesque doesn't go to the end of the room where Nia you have grown as a dancer you are starting to use that upper body..hey i don't have great legs i don't have good feet my knees don't straighten i'm gonna make you look up here i'm gonna use my assets to impress rather than dweling on the negative"

"alright now Maddies not here so she would be with you at the top of the pyramid so it's you all by yourself at the top of the pyramid"

Kalani comes up and gets her headshot and we all call and she does a little cheer with her arms
"you did a duet you filled in for Kayla and it was a spectacular duet" Abby says
