You stumbled into your apartment, giggling uncontrollably. You had just come back from a night out with your friends and had a few too many drinks... even though it was meant to be 'just one.'

You didn't even realize how late it was until you saw Austin sitting on the couch, his arms crossed, and a stern look on his face.

You'd promised him you'd be back by 11, sober..and it was now 1.30.

"Hey, you're back," he said, his voice sounding more annoyed than happy.

You thought nothing of that.

You bounced over to him, not realizing the tension in the room. "Hi, babe! I had so much fun tonight!" you slurred, reaching out to squish his cheeks. "Your face is so cute..aww..little Austin..such a cutie."

Austin pulled away from your touch, his expression hardening. "Do you have any idea what time it is?" he asked, his voice low and controlled.

You looked at the clock on the wall and shrugged. "It's late, but it's okay. I had a good time," you said, still not understanding the problem, or why he was so mad.

Austin let out a frustrated sigh and stood up. "I'll be in the bedroom," he said, walking away from you.

You pouted, not understanding why he was so upset.

You followed him into the bedroom, still giggling and swaying slightly.

"What's wrong, baby?" you asked, trying to wrap your arms around him.
Austin pushed you away gently. "You came back way too late, and you're drunk. I'm just worried about you," he said, his voice softening.

You looked at him, finally realizing how upset he was. "Oh, I'm sorry, I didn't realise the time... I'll be more careful next time," you said, feeling guilty.
"It's okay, just please be careful," he said, pulling you into a hug. "You only had that little dress on, and your heels..I was just worried."
"Of course, I will be careful. I love you," you said, snuggling into his chest, feeling safe.

Austin leaned down and pressed his lips to yours, his hands wrapping around your waist. You laughed again, feeling happy.

"I love you too, even when you're drunk and squishing my face," he said, laughing.

You laughed too, feeling grateful to have someone who cared about you so much. You leaned up and kissed him again, feeling the warmth of his love surrounding you.
