"Are you sure?" Staring at the clean crisp white envelope which was left unopened as he leaned back in his leather office chair. "Wouldn't this be better as a public announcement? After all, it is the truth." Turning a blind eye to such stupidity, even to the likes of what most would consider a laid back teacher, was ridiculous. Especially within the current political climate of their world.
"It's better this way," he reasoned, in the faint light of the yellow lamp of the staff room. "If anything goes wrong it doesn't spiral out of control."
"Arrangements are always one sided." He knew. They knew. "What's the goal then? Power?" Yes. "Then why has your father allowed Yuri to enrol into Jujutsu High," it just didn't make sense from a political stance. There was no need for the brunette, who had lived most of her life for jujutsu sorcery, to attend school for something she excelled at. "Seems out of character for such a conservative family." Eyes caught the slight shift in the student's gaze.
"It's... for the best."
"How so? Through binding vows?" His voice wasn't as humorous and optimistic, in fact, it seemed like he was cornering the high school student like a beast. 'He figured it out from a glance?' Uneasiness permeated through his skin. Promise flashed across his lips. Scoffing. "You think I wouldn't notice, Noritoshi-kun?" A rather unsatisfied expression followed. "You've weakened her." He knew that. "Control her." He knew that. "You're selfish."
"I know," he managed to state. "I know it's selfish. I know what the binding vows are for. I know the arrangement will fail." He knew a lot more about her than he'd let anyone believe, piquing the interest of the strongest. "Like what?" Crashing down into cold sweat once more at the nearing 30 year old's gaze. He messed up, his mind flipping through still images of white haired people alongside the menacing burnt doll of flesh and bone with pluming scarlet from those gouged eyes, before his mind landed on a silhouette, watching a car burn.
"Who had killed her mother and tried to kill her."
"Do tell."
The student's figure grew tense by this, hoping to swear to secrecy on this matter. Including the arrangement. At a price of course.
"You've done multiple binding vows before, right," he grinned, holding his hands together with his legs crossed. "I'll agree as long as you do one with me."

Pointing at the pack of chicken breasts, "Why beef, Mayu?" Kamo puzzled as she laid bare the two packets of meat before him. "Unless it's from a great butcher at the more chewable parts, chicken's better to chew on," explaining as he turned to see her slicing the chicken with immense concentration. Unlike himself, she was wearing a mustard yellow apron because she was actually preparing the ingredients. He was deemed to be 'too sick' to help in her efforts much to the older's dismay, even though she only woke up the day after being removed from The Exchange Event and passing out involuntarily also known as today. She also wore a medical eye patch on her right eye.
With the chicken sliced and placed into a bowl, Yuri handed it over to the bandaged senior to place on the side as she moved on to cooking the rice using the fancy rice maker! Tossing in the spring onions and chicken into the bowl with rice. Now they'd just have to wait for about half an hour. Since most of the work was done, she took off her apron and placed it away.
