 Morning of the outbreak day

 September 26th 2003

Joel Miller entered the kitchen and grabbed a glass of orange juice from the fridge. "Dad where's the pancake mix?" Sarah asked Joel as she looked through the cupboards. "Oh shit, sorry honey I forgot to get some yesterday," He said while getting up with two cups of coffee one in each hand. "Ooh, you giving a cup of that to Lexi," Sarah asked an eyebrow raised smirking. "Yeah why is there a problem with giving her a coffee in the morning," He replied raising an eyebrow and smirking back at his daughter as he left to meet Lexi in her front yard,

Joel walked over to Lexi as she sat on the bench outside her house she looked up to see Joel and smiled, her smile grew bigger when she saw the two coffee's in his hands. "Are you gonna drink both of them or is one for me?" Lexi teased at Joel smirking slightly as he try to play it off and took a seat next to Lexi handing her the other mug. "Happy birthday by the way Joel," Lexi said with a smile on her face. "Sarah asked me to grab a cake today on my way back from work so if you and Rosa wanna join I don't see why Sarah would be mad. Joel looked at the women who he finally realized he's in love with. "Well we might be missing one because Richie Rosa's boss is making her work double shift tonight so she won't be back till like 4am." As soon as she finished Rosa walked out in her work uniform again but Lexi could tell something felt off with Rosa. "Hey Rosa, you alright?" She asked with a concerned tone as Rosa walked past not saying a word. Rosa turned to face the pair with tears briming her eyes. "Yeah I'm fine just don't want to be late again," Lexi stood up and walked over. "Hey, you know you can tell me anything that's why we moved in together okay," Lexi said as Rosa nodded and gave her sister a goodbye hug and got into her car. As soon as she was gone Joel stood up and walked over to Lexi, he placed his hands on her shoulders and gave them a rub. "Lex, relax she's probably upset about having to go into work for a longer time. Lexi turned and faced Joel and once again got lost in his brown eyes for a moment. "Yeah, no I'm sure she's fine anyway she can maybe put her shit boss Richie in his place because I know she can only stand him for so long," The two laughed and headed to their houses to get ready for work.

Lexi grabbed her keys and left the house locking it on her way out just in time to say bye to Joel, Sarah and Tommy before they all left. "Lexi, bye have fun at work," Sarah said hugging Lexi and she grabbed her tightly, Joel again watched in admiration before Tommy snapped him out of his trance talking about what they need to do today. "You guys be safe okay I'll see you later." Lexi said as she waved goodbye before heading to her car to go to work. Lexi sat in her car for a moment think of what to put on and she found a CD that Joel got her for her birthday a few months ago.

24th June 2003

"Alright who's present is next?" Lexi asked around the 4 people and Joel stood up to go grab his. "Here's mine I know it's not much but you're difficult to buy for," Joel explained as he passed Lexi her gift. Once she started to open it she notices the numbers 80s written in something. Lexi was one of those people who loved all 80s music and Joel knew that from Rosa of course. "Joel, thank you so much how did you know I loved 80s music," Lexi smiled and gave Joel a hug. "Would you believe me if I said lucky guess?" He smirked at the happy women opposite him. Rosa smiled to herself as she is finally seeing her sister happy with someone after what happened with her ex boyfriend Tom. 

Tom and Lexi were a happy couple, they did everything together and he got along very well with Rosa, which is why Lexi knew Rosa was telling the truth when she caught him fucking another girl who worked in the same place as Rosa at the time in the back storage room. Lexi moved out of Tom's after he finally admitted what he did and Lexi moved in with Rosa when she told Lexi she was moving away from LA. Tom didn't want Lexi to leave but if she didn't then he would've just kept cheating on her and Lexi didn't want a life like that.
