Gusts of wind blew against the metal gates, leaving a daunting sound. No movement at all through the town. "You stay there." Joel ordered Ellie as he made his way to the gate and put the code into the keypad. As they entered the town through the gates they kept walking until they reached Bill and Frank's house. There was no movement in the house at all "Bill?" Lexi called out as she had her pistol in her right hand. "Frank?" Joel yelled out a few moments after Lexi. "Stay here with the kid, you hear anything.. yell." Joel said to his wife who nodded and went to stand by Ellie. Joel started to make his way through the house and then came back down shaking his head. The trio went outside together and Lexi found something on the ground. "It's from Bill." Lexi put her gun back to where it was originally. They headed back into the house and took a seat somewhere in one room. 'whomever came to this' Lexi took off her bag and placed it on the floor. "So they're dead?" "Mhm- You, you wanna?" Joel passed the letter to Ellie who started to read it out. "August 29 2023. If you find this please do not come into the bedroom. We left a window open so the house wouldn't smell. but it will probably be a sight, I'm guessing you found this Joel or Lexi because anyone else would've been electrocuted or blown up by one of my traps. Hehehehehe. Rake anything you need, the bunker code is the same as the gate code but in reverse. Anyway, I never liked you. But still, it was like we're friends.. almost. Frank adored Lexi. I respect you. So I'm gonna tell you something because you're probably the only person who will understand. I use to hate the world and I was happy when everyone died. But I was wrong because there was one person worth saving. That's what I did." Ellie paused and looked over at the couple who's hands intertwined with each others. "I saved him. Then I protected him. That's why men like you and me are here, we have a job to do. And god help me any motherfucker who stans in our way. I leave you all my weapons and equipment. Us them to keep." Ellie paused and Lexi nodded at her to continue. "Use them to keep Lexi, Tommy and Rosa safe-" Ellie paused again when Lexi's chair scraped against the floor and she stormed out upset and angry. Once she was outside she started to hyperventilate and crouched on the floor. "Lexi? Lex are you okay?" Ellie asked concerned. "I'm so sorry I didn't know-" "It's fine Ellie. It's fine." Ellie crouched beside her and hugged her. Joel walked out after sitting there for a moment and then he saw Lexi and Ellie together. Ellie saw Joel and let go of Lexi so he could comfort her. "Lex, sugar you okay?" Lexi grabbed Joel and hugged him, he kept rubbing her back as sobs came from her.

The couple stayed like that for a while and then let go of each other Lexi wiping her eyes. "Let's go check on Ellie and hope she hasn't hurt herself." Joel chuckled softly as they stood up and headed back into the house. "Lexi they have strawberries look." Ellie said walking over. "Oh my fucking god I love them." Lexi snatched the berries out of the teens hands and ate a few of them. "Oi you fucker let me have some!" Ellie exclaimed as she snatched one. Joel looked at the pair eating strawberries and smiled to himself as he was happy Lexi is finally letting someone in again, even if it was with the teen that he still doesn't trust or like very much but he did admit to himself that she's starting to grow on her. "I'm gonna hit the shower alright, Joel try not to kill her please?" Lexi said grabbing some stuff and leaving. "Not making any promises." Joel called out and Ellie looked at the man with wide eyes. "What the fuck dude don't kill me!" She slightly raised her voice at Joel who just smirked at her. "Relax I was just joking I'm not gonna kill you kiddo." Joel left the room motioning his hand so she would follow him as they went downstairs. Lexi finally finished up and came downstairs once she was ready. Joel got up and moved her to another room for a moment. "I don't want Ellie seeing this but I haven't done this in a while." Before Lexi could say anything Joel kissed her and that got heated very quickly but Lexi thought that it would be a good idea to send Ellie up next. "Ellie go up for a shower kiddo." Lexi said and once they knew she was gone the making out continued. Slight moans were coming from the couple as they were kissing each others necks. "Joel, Ellie might be done soon so don't go any further okay cowboy." Joel pushed some of Lexi's hair behind her ear as he gave her one more passionate kiss that lasted a couple seconds. Lexi was lucky to have Joel in her life, he made her feel so much better even when the world has gone to shit there, he showed her there is something left fighting for and for Lexi that was her husband.
