(20 minutes later)
"Briar he could have really hurt you. I should have fucking done more then yell at him to get out-" he stopped his own sentence to look over at her with her just staring at the window. "Briar..i'm sorry. Am I scaring y-" "Shh." "What-" "look.." she whispered. He walked over to the window they had in their living room to see...a kid? "He looks sad.." Briar muttered. With that she stood up and walked towards the front door "where are you going?" "To go and get him so we can call his parents." she said quietly as she walked out. He followed her out and grabbed her hand, startling her for a second then calming her.  She walked up to the boy sitting down next to him asking him where he was supposed to be and where his parents were, you could tell he was scared being out there. The boy didn't really speak he just held on to briar and didn't let go. He wasn't very heavy so she picked him up and started to walk back upstairs with Coal and now the little boy. They laid him down in the guest bedroom in their apartment that they used for their cats because who doesn't spoil their cats? Anyways, The two adults sat in the living trying to just think. Think. Thinking is so strange, you never really tell people what you're thinking, some tend to already know without you speaking a single word. Which in ways is scary. "Briar, i need to know if i was scaring you." Coal spoke in the silence of the room. Briar looked at him with a small smile. "Why would you scare me?" "well because i have anger issues and i don't get along with everyone, i don't like to go out and converse, when i do it's about how much i hate other people, i can be violent but it's not like it's on purpose, and I-" she put her palm on his cheek. "Even if you're all of those things, that is your beauty, your beauty never scared me Coal. Plus, You're working on being kinder, your so kind to me and to crow. You have helped me in many ways i couldn't have even helped myself with. You are so many things you don't even know about yet Coal, i know you don't think you are all that kind but you need to trust me." she spoke with softness in her tone while her fingers laid against the side of his face. His hand made its way to her cheek as he looked into her eyes, his other hand went down to her waist making her jolt a little. He guided her lips to his, this kiss, it wasn't sexual, they didn't think it was, they thought it was a soft, drunken, nostalgic past tense feeling. This feeling did change a bit after the kiss started to get heated. Part of them wanted it to escalate, the other part knew that they shouldn't. With that, They broke away from each other after a few seconds and put their foreheads on one another. "uhm-" Briar jolted and held her head in her hands, clearly embarrassed. Coal also looked towards the small kid in their hallway. "You ready to call your parents kid?" Coal spoke, with that the kid nodded and Coal pulled out his phone. "let's take a rain check on that activity some other time" he whispered to briar as the phone rang. With an hour passing explaining to the parents where there kid was they were at their doorstep with tears steaming down their faces as they held their son. "Thank you so much. You don't know what we've been through trying to look for him." "It wasn't an issue-" "Mom i wanna go home-" "We will, tell the nice couple thank you." Briar drowned out all of the voices around her 'couple..?' she thought as she felt her T-shirt being pulled on. "Ma'am?" "o-oh yes?" "We wanted to thank you before we left." "Oh w-well it wasn't a problem.." she said softly. She watched them walk away and closed the door sighing.
