Coal woke up to the curtains drawn back in there bedroom and to a certain someone gone from his sight. He looked over at the clock on his nightstand and sighed '7:30am..so much for taking the day slow..' he thought as he sat up and looked around the room for that certain someone. He went into the bathroom and look at how clean it was 'She's been in here..so that means she is in the kitchen..' he sighed as he opened the bedroom door to find the one and only doing what she normally does when she's bored, do anything but take her medication. But today was different the pill bottles were open, she took them without a fight. Odd thing to see, she cared about her health, she really did, but pills were not really shined upon in her family. She had 3 cups of coffee already made, One made with extra creamer for Chick, One with half a splash of creamer and cold foam on top for Crow, and one americano black coffee for Coal. He then looked at her to see her doing dishes and trying to just live like nothing was wrong. Briar had a way of doing that. She just suppressed everything, all her problems, all of her bad thoughts and habits, until it's all too much and she just explodes. That was just her way of coping. She didn't 'explode' much either, so that's a plus. Coal just yawned and went up behind her and place his arms around her waist, she didn't seem really bothered by it, she just smiled softly and continue to put the dishes into the dish washer. "Good morning my love.." He muttered in her ear "Good morning sleep head, why are you awake? It's only 8am?" She said softly so that she would wake there other guests up. "I could be asking you the same thing-" "Good morning beautiful people!" Crow was awake and happier than ever, chick followed him with a yawn "Oh my gosh, My favorite! Thank you twinkle toes" "How did you know my favorite coffee?" Chick said a little intrigued "You and crow talk a little too loud, I heard a lot of other things I did not want to hear this morning" She said shrugging and smiling, while coals arms were still placed around her waist. "Well i don't think you have any room to talk missy. We heard the both of you all morning." Crow said with a grin, Briars face went red as she turned around to continue with what she was doing before. "Was it enjoyable big boy?" Crow said with the same shit eating grin "You know what. It was the most enjoyable thing since me and briar were doing it in high sc-" "God shut up." Briar said walking away clearly embarrassed enough. The other three males giggled as they made their way to follow her to one of the guest bedrooms. "Hey hon.. You missed me didn't you?" Briar said softly as she quietly sat on the ground and the two slim cats followed suit to her. Her cat was the white Turkish Angora with one blue eye and one grey eye, and Coals was the Slim black tuxedo cat with green eyes. "Hi honey" she smiled as the two colored eyed cat walked up to her to sit on her lap. "You too Chico." She smiled as the other walked up to her. "I know, We've been gone for a couple of days huh? But we've got guest and they are going to love you two." The two cats meowed in sync "I'm going to take that as you guys want out of the room" She said giggling as she opened the door and the two cats walked out to explore their surroundings. Coal then walked into the room and sat on the floor next to his angel. Just watching her and admiring her. "You know you are beautiful right?" "Where is this coming from?" She asked quietly "It's the truth, don't let anyone tell you different okay?" Coal said calmly and quietly "Okay, I won't, I promise" She smiled as the two just sat there, put their foreheads against one another's. That moment was cut short though "BIG BOY IM STEALING YOUR CAT!" "YOU FUCKING BITCH-" Coal yelled back as he ran out of the room, briar giggling on the floor and sighing. This room had a bay window, it was her favorite to sit in and just look at the city overhead. She watched the traffic, the sights, the sounds. All of the things she was used to, she could see from such a safe place. She felt a hand on her shoulder and turned to face the person "Oh hi Chick, What's up?" She said with a soft smile "I was told your birthday is coming up?" He said with a smile "Oh yeah I suppose it is." She said with a brief pause, she didn't really care for her birthday. But Coal and Crow always made it special "I don't really care for my birthday much. Plus it's on Valentine's day. Everyone will be busy with someone else, I think me and Coal are actually going to see his mom on that day.." She said going into thought as she looked back out the window "May I?" Chick asked gesturing to the open space in the bay window "Of course" "You know briar, for the short amount of time that I have known you it has felt like forever. You helped me find Crow, the one person the universe knew I needed. Oh and your kindness to others, don't even get me started girl. You are an amazing person, who deserves to be celebrated! You are turning 24 correct?" He said with a big smile "Yeah It's not that big of a deal though. I don't really need much for my birthday, as long as everyone's happy, I'm happy." She said smiling
She stood up and then walked out of the room to be met with a screaming match between the two idiots. "GIVE ME MY CAT BACK" "NO HES MY BABY NO-" She just smiled and took Chico out of Crows arms and it was like the cat sighed in relief to be out of that cat fight. She began to walk away back into the cats room while Honey followed suit. "I'm going to put them back in here so you can join everyone in the living room" She smiled towards Chick. Chick nodded and walked out of the room to meet up with the other two. Once Briar shut the door to their cat's room her whole body fell and leaned against the door quietly. She just took a moment to breathe. She smiled, at that moment she knew that she was loved unconditionally by people she cared about. Sure her parents weren't in the picture but she cared for them still. But everyone in her life now care about her unconditionally. 'Huh, my birthday is in a week isn't it?' she thought looking at her phone at her calendar.
(In the living room)
"Guys we have to make her birthday special." Chick said walking into the living room "Chick sweetheart, that was the plan" Crow said with a grin "Yeah we take Briar to my mothers house first so she can shower her with love and gifts, then I take her out for a birthday lunch/valentines day lunch, then we have a party for her, but this time it has a little surprise at the end." Coal smiled. The other two looked at each other confused "Hey I thought we were planning her day together man, Why the secrets?" "Trust me you'll like the secret. Now come on let's make this week special for her. We could go out and go shopping since you three love to do that." Crow laughed as Chicks face lit up "Oh my Gosh! I'll go get Briar!" He said running up the stairs to a dark hallway, He was stopped at the top of the stairs with the other two watching him and waiting for Briar "Oh my god, Briar are you okay?" He said racing down to the hallway to where she was sat, The other two went up the stairs to see their partners sat on the ground. "Hm- Yeah I just wanted a second to breathe." She said with a soft smile "You sure?" "I am sure Chick" All three of the males smiled "Great! We're going Shopping!" She raised an eyebrow "Really? You guys agreed to that?" "Coals the one who suggested it." Crow said with a sigh, she then looked at Coal with a Soft smile "Alright, then let's go." "YAY!!" and with that they headed on to have a fun filled day, well for two of them anyways!
