"I can't believe you would make me pay for your ice cream"
"I can"
I roll my eyes and follow Haley to the ice cream counter.
"HALEY?!" A girl yells from behind the counter, coming closer to look at Haley.
"Ohh hi?" Haley says, clearly not knowing who this person was.
"IT'S BEEN SO LONG! HOW'S THE LLAMA?!"
Silence follows after that question, Haley stares at the girl like she's on drugs.
"Ummm" Haley mutters, looking at me for help.
"Oh and how's the boyfriend?" The girl asks, smirking.
"Oh yeah, how is your boyfriend" The same girl from IHOP, Reagan, asks out of nowhere.
"HALEY WHY DIDN'T YOU TELL ME YOU HAD A BOYFRIEND?!" I exclaim, pretending to be surprised by this 'new information'.
Haley sends me a glare and looks back at the two girls.
"Honestly" Haley starts, looking around and not meeting the two girls gaze. "I have no freaking clue who you are"
"I know" The girl says easily, wiping up the mess the ice cream left on the counter.
"WHAT?!" Haley yells, annoyance and confusion written on her face.
"I only know your name because my friend, knows your friend" The girl says, gesturing towards me.
"Me?" I ask confused, making sure she's not pointing to someone near me.
"Yup" She confirms, and grins at me. "Your Sara"
I slowly nod and glance at Haley from the corner of my eye. Her arms are crossed and she still holds the same expression of annoyance and confusion.
"Who are you?" I ask slowly, stepping closer towards Haley.
"Kaitlyn" She says, grinning easily and holding her hand out in front of her.
"How do you know us?"
"I just told you, from my friend"
"Who is?"
"Andrew"
The room goes quiet and my heartbeat pounds in my ears.
"Andrew? Does he.." I trail off, gesturing with my hands around my body.
"Does he talk about her" Haley finishes eagerly, leaning forward.
Kaitlyn scoffs and nods her head. "He talks about you all the time, it's so annoying"
"You know what else is annoying" Haley starts but I cut her off with a jab of my elbow.
Haley groans and puts her hands up, backing away and into a booth, still in hearing distance.
"Andrew talks about me" I say quietly and in shock, looking down at the ground.
Reagan and Kaitlyn share a look and continue to serve customers behind me.
"Our shifts end at six o'clock, do you want to go and talk somewhere?" Reagan offers, after she notices me still standing there in the same position.
"Yeah"
