{Sara}

"MY SHIP WENT DOWN IN A SEA OF SOUND" I scream the lyrics of 'Therapy' as I hurriedly take a shower. I woke up really late today. Like really, really late. So late that it's now three in the afternoon. I turn off the water and grab a towel, quickly drying myself off. I put on black leggings, plain white shirt and a blue checkered flannel over it. I put my hair in a braid and grab a maroon colored beanie. I grab my glasses and phone and slip on my vans. I snatch my key off the nail and quickly shut the door behind me. Double checking to make sure it's locked, I run down the hall and to the elevator.

"Crap I'm going to be so late" I groan as I repeatedly press the DOWN button. I glance over at the stairs and groan again. Exercise or be late to dinner with Collin and Sky, I say to myself, weighing the options on my hand. I sigh as I notice the elevator still hasn't opened. "Well now I have no choice" I groan again and start to race down the stairs.

By the time I enter the lobby, I am a complete panting mess.

"Ms. Sara are you alright?" Edith asks worriedly, starting to stand up.

"I'm fine" I breath out, slowly starting to catch my breath. I straighten out my posture and give her a reassuring smile. I look at the clock above her head and gasp. It's now 3:30 and I'm suppose to meet them at 4 o'clock. "Bye Edith" I yell as I shove open the door and run down the sidewalk.

I hear people yell in surprise and anger as I shove them out of my way. But I can't bring myself to care, as I turn another corner. I slow down when I see the restaurant in sight, trying to regain my breathing. I look at my phone and see the it's 3:58, I walk quickly towards the entrance, and pull the door open.

"SARA" I hear Sky yell from a booth. I smile and walk over to them. "We thought you were going to be late" She says, wagging her finger in disapproval. I laugh and give her and Collin a hug.

"Did you order already?" I ask them, taking a seat across from them.

"Nope, because you change your order each flipping time" Collin saids teasingly, poking my cheek. I swat his hand away and shrug innocently.

"Not my fault McDonalds has a lot to choose from" I say defensively, crossing my arms. They laugh and Collin stands up.

"What do you want?"

"I'll just have a cheeseburger with Dr.Pepper and a sundae" I say, smiling cheekily at him. He nods and walks over to the cashier. "Isn't it your turn to pay?" I say to Sky, giving her a look.

"Maybe" She saids innocently, smirking and kicked my foot. "Sooo have you found any hotties lately?"

I groan and shoot a glare at her. She shrugs and looks at her finger nails. "No I have not and I probably never will" I say reluctantly, it's at least half true.

"Aww don't worry, you'll find someone soon" She tells me, patting my hand in sympathy. I feel a little guilty, but I can't tell her about the mysterious customer, partly because I'm confused as to what happened, and because I'll probably never see him again. I shrug carelessly and pull my hand away from her.

"So how are you and Collin?" I ask her, already knowing the answer. Her brown eyes light up and she starts going into detail about their date the other night.

"It was so romantic and then we went home and it was steamy, we started kissing and-"

"Shush! There are little children-babies around" I tell her, removing my hand from her face. She just winks at me and I groan, covering my face with my hands.

"Why am I even friends with you?" I ask her, looking at her through the spaces between my fingers.

"Cause you love me" She tells me in a 'duh' voice. I scoff and roll my eyes, kicking her in the shin.

"Ow! What was that for?!" She yells, glaring at me.

"For being a pervert" I say in a 'duh' voice, mocking her. She starts to say something but luckily Collin arrives with the food. "Finally I'm starving" I say, quickly grabbing my food from the tray.

"Your welcome" He says playfully, looking at both of us. We both mumble a incoherent 'thank you' and continue eating. Collin laughs and sits down and starts to eat as well. We make small talk and by the time we have to leave, my sides hurt from laughing so much.

"Bye losers" I say, giving them a big hug.

"Don't forget to text us, you dork"

"I am not a whale penis!" I yell over my shoulder, shooting them a glare. They both wink at me and link hands, and start to walk in the opposite direction. I check my phone again and see that it's six o'clock. I have six hours left until I have to go to work. I'm not tired, so I'll probably just end up reading or playing video games or watching a movie. Maybe I'll talk to Edith and go to the park. Why are there so many choices?! I sigh and enter my apartment building.

"Someone was in a rush today" Edith says pointing at me. I shrug sheepishly and walk over to the desk.

"Yeah, I was trying not to be late to meet my friends at McDonalds" I say, rubbing the back of my neck.

"You silly girl" She says, laughing and shaking her head at me. I laugh and hop on to the desk.

"You know your not allowed up here" She tells me, trying to push me off. I grip on tighter and give her my best puppy dog eyes.

"Pretty please with a cherry on top?"

"You always know how to make me give in" She says with a sigh, giving up on trying to push me off.

"It's a gift" I say and wink at her. She laughs and shakes her head again.

"So Edith found anyone that strikes your fancy?" I ask her, wiggling my eyebrows.

"Sara, I am a 35 year old women, whose job is to sit behind a desk all day, what do you think"

"So is that a yes?" I ask her, even though I know the answer.

"Not even close" She says in defeat, hanging her head low.

"When do you have a free day off?"

"This weekend...why?"

"Because we're going out and finding you a boyfriend" I say, hopping off the desk and scurrying away before she can protest. I decide to take the stairs again, but I go a lot slower this time.

When I finally make it inside my apartment, I'm exhausted. I know I shouldn't be, but that's a lot of exercise for me in one day. I take off my glasses and put them on the kitchen counter. I collapse on my bed and shut my eyes. A small nap should keep me awake through my shift.
