I Can't Believe I Like You

Thirteen

Everyone is currently clustered around the TV watching a movie. Honestly I'm not even paying attention, but oh well.

"Sara?"

"Hmm?"

"I'm tired" Haley whines, kicking her feet.

I raise an eyebrow "and? What am I supposed to do about it?"

"Take me hoommee"

I groan and stand up from the couch. I stretch my arms and look over at Edith and Steven. Edith fell asleep on Stevens shoulder and Steven rested his head against the top of hers. I suppress the urge to aw and write a quick note.

'We left have fun with Steven ;) -Sara'

Haley looks over my shoulder and once she sees what I wrote she scrunches up her nose.

"What?"

"That's nasty"

I roll my eyes and Haley takes the pencil and the note from me.

'BUT NOT TO MUCH FUN-.- -Haley'

I grab my keys from the table and slip on my shoes. Haley follows me out the door and down the hall to the elevator. We wait in silence until we get to my apartment. Haley flops on my bed and sighs.

"I'm exhausted"

"It must have been pretty tiring beating a spider to death with a toaster" I comment, putting my stuff away.

"It was" Haley calls over her shoulder as she enters the bathroom. I roll my eyes and change into some pajamas. I crawl into bed and lay my glasses down beside Haley's.

Haley turns off the light and gets into bed.

"Night" She says with a yawn, turning so her back is to me.

"Night" I repeat back, staring up at the ceiling.

"Wait. Don't you have work tonight?"

"Crap" I exclaim, bolting straight up.

"Relax just text your boss and say that you can't make it" Haley says tiredly, sinking deeper into the mattress. I nod and grab my phone.

'I'm not gonna make it for work today'
I press send and bite my lip, waiting anxiously.

'Why?'

'I've had a long day'

'Be here tomorrow.'

I sigh in relief and lay back down, placing my phone back.

I close my eyes and dream guiltily of Andrew waiting for me.
